We were by far the better team tonight. Proctor was a real nuisance to their defence and nobody particularly had a bad game. True fans believe until their very last breath, the negativity astounds me. When we need that winner in injury time in a few games time and when that ball hits the back of the net, you can guarantee a load of the posters on here will already be in their cars trying to phone radio Stoke to say how rubbish we were. I know everyone is entitled to an opinion but some really love to lambast, belittle and bemoan. What’s wrong with a bit of belief and optimism?

I’m on board Mr Delgado. A real sickening one tonight, but the bad times make the good times even better 😄 Got to keep believing until it is mathematically impossible 👍

The idea that to be a 'true fan' you have to ignore evidence and engage in some form of cognitive dissonance/faith exercise to convince yourself that things will work out OK, isn't right.

It hurts a lot at times to be Vale as we've had (in my view) the worst run of 95% of professional football club (bar the liquidated ones) over the last 20 years, and just when things looked to be going right, we're now looking at the longest spell in the bottom tier in most fans' lifetimes, after chucking away a win against a poor side who had sub 2,000 home fans.

I think the disappointment is normal. We've won 2 in 10 ffs, against the bottom 2.

I haven’t seen footage or listened to any commentary tonight so can’t comment on the game.

But I just feel that we haven’t quite got enough football nous or energy in the team. We are lacking pace, guile and a bit of craft in middle of the park, and I thought that even before Conlon got injured.

I know I keep harping about them but Swindon played some lovely stuff, they played in triangles and had willing runners etc. We just don’t have that, so invariably tend to launch it.

We certainly don’t feel like top 3 side, just a solid top 10 side.

Some pathetic comments on here !
We weren’t dire, we did enough to win the game, they scored with their one and only chance just be realistic it’s football it happens !
All the total negative comments from the usuals on here, there’s nothing in between with some of you , if we win we’re fantastic if we lose we’re absolute rubbish !!
Totally surprised why some spend so much time on here you should be plotting your way to the Champions League Final with all your superior tactical knowledge!
It’s League 2 , get over yourselves and back your team to do their best .
One mistake has cost us, it’s unfortunate, it’s not the end of the the world !
Easy to criticise after the event, too many ‘Captain Hindsights’ on here  , try doing the job yourselves, oh yeh right , you wouldn’t know where to start !!

UTV

Hate comments like this. We’re fans it’s not our job to decide tactics ect.

Most of us if you read the comments we’re pretty dissatisfied with the whole performance before their goal so not hindsight.

We we’re really poor there. it wasn’t one mistake. It was us sitting on a lead again we just don’t learn. Before tonight we had already dropped more from winning positions and it’s clear why. If we won today I can tell you now I wouldn’t be saying fantastic. We were beyond poor against a side that on that performance would make a Sunday league outfit look half decent. We should be able to put sides like this away 3/4 - 0. But we don’t, we don’t create anywhere near enough and haven’t for weeks - since before Christmas(Carlisle aside)

Only Hall looks a like a good signing from January at the moment. Edmondson and Harrity, and I don't want to be too harsh on either as they are young lads, especially the latter, are clearly not the answer. Plenty of effort but little in the way of ability. Charsley doesn't look any better than Burgess. Cooper the less said about the better right now. Holy no better than the two keepers we already had. Hussey is undoubtedly a decent player and a solid pro but we were crying out for another striker that was somewhat proven at the level, not a left-back.

It's looking like we fell into the trap of just bringing in bodies for the sake of it and not because they would actually really strengthen us, Hall excluded.

Edmondson Harrity, Charsley, Cooper, look like what they are. Chancers. Young lads with a bit about them, could be good.  But not players to be thrown in as starters in an allegedly promotion chasing L2 team. Nothing against them at all.  Just not what we needed.

I don't know how many times I have to say that we've won 2 games out of 10 and both of those wins were against teams who are in the bottom 2 of professional English football. I think frustration is understandable and inevitable.

I'll mention it again, maybe.

Keith Hill described us as functional which is an excellent description.

We've got lads who work hard but sadly I think we're just a little short in quality. We have our moments but we aren't consistently good enough.
We don't seem to have enough about us to put teams like Rochdale to bed.

We've had a bit of a nightmare with goalkeepeers this season as well.
