Mk Dons excellent stadium.  My feeling going there was it was something to do that particular day. Bowling, Cinema, Football or Frankie and Bennys

Didn't see any passion or love of football,  just people going for a Saturday out.  Might be doing them a disservice but that's how it came across.

Remember pulling up to the ground and there was a sign saying event here today. Great stadium but like you say the rest leaves a lot to be desired!

Hampden gets some stick (and rightly so) but I was lucky enough to have been in attendance when Scotland beat France back in 2006 and the atmosphere was simply unbelievable. Some place when it's rocking.
Arena Fonte Nova in Salvador, Brazil will stick in my memory forever. Was fortunate enough to see two games at that venue at the 2014 WC (including that RVP header in Holland's demolition of Spain). Uniquely the 'back' of the stand behind the goal offers a window into the 'real Brazil' ie. the slums of Salvador, with the stadium plonked in the middle of it. Incredible, thought provoking design.
With Vale. 2006 was a strong year starting and ending with trips to proper grounds - Villa Park and White Hart Lane. On the other end of the spectrum, always had a soft spot for Saltergate (especially our last trip there!). Of the new grounds, I remember thinking the KC was pretty smart on my only visit (Lee Matthews 35 yarder) and Rotherham's new ground is at least a bit different from the identikit efforts of Chesterfield, Shrewsbury etc.
Went to the Old Hampden in the 60s, Scotland beat England there for the first time since the war, att 128,000. Terraces littered with whisky bottles. Outside the ground you can imagine the density of the crowds leaving, one silly woman attempting to drive through, her car was just lifted up and turned on its side.

Been to St James' Park once and absolutely loved it.

Apart from that, I loved the old Wembley even though it was crumbling a bit by the time i went in the late 90s.

Down at our level, i've always enjoyed Accrington for some reason and i quite like Rochdale- away end on the side rather than behind the goal, cracking pub in the Cemetry Hotel down the road and the chippie of course.

Mk dons was a quality ground. Just needs moving and have some proper fans / atmosphere. Think Villa was probably the away ground I enjoyed most.

Villa was mint and white hart lane around the same time for the league cup game was one of my favourites.

Best away days

1. Maine Road (Kinkladze/Porter)

2. Molineux

3. Galpharm/John Smiths - 2 matches: last day survival and the Dodds/Richards game

4. Vicky Ground - Van Der Laan and an unnamed player mooning out of the Away dressing room window

5. Cheltenham. Great real ale and food pub, Pope’s hat trick and that 3rd round draw

Worst has to be the Day of the Poncho at Gillingham

I agree. Nice stadium but it's like a library.

The best ground I have been to and watched a game was Real Madrid's Bernabeu, but the one that I was amazed with was Darlington' which I think was based on Wembley stadium and was built apparently with ill gotten gains by George Reynolds. Is he still in prison?

Baffled by the mentions of the emirates, new wembley and stadium mk. been to all three and they're an absolute stain on stadium architecture. Leitch is turning in his grave.

Think best I've been to is the San Siro, joke of a ground that'd never get built in that style today sadly.

Portman Road, Kenilworth Road, Bramall Lane, Villa Park, the old WHL, Roots Hall, The Hawthorns, Carrow Road and The Valle all have elements I'd love to see inspire any new development at Vale Park but Loftus Road is the absolute pinnacle of what a small stadium should aim to be tbh

The San Siro is indeed an incredible stadium.

Going back to stadiums visited following Vale, The McAlpine Stadium, John Smiths as it is now, is another I’d add to the list.
