did the blinkered ones notice their goal came from lowsy marking by smith and worrall (again)!😒:drink:

Why would we need to notice that when we have such an extensive scouting system here on onevalefan?

Real football people on here you know, a season ticket = same level as knowledge as our management team.

With experts such as yourself pointing out professional footballers shortcomings 24 hours after it’s happened we will never need to notice anything ever again.

Bit like Dan Jones ‘body language’ last week you were commenting on this isn’t it captain hindsight.

Yes we are missing his excellence in final third ,swings and roundabouts as when he plays we seem not as solid defensively but Yes a lot goes through Conlon in the final third however I'm sure Wilson could play his role while he is out .

We need find ways of playing better I think we miss Cass Smith's a warrior but offers little to nothing going towards the opposition goal we need connection's maybe if we want go for it we play Jones in Smith's position as we have to make that initial pass a good one

UTV

Totally agree about Cass. One of the few ball carriers in the team.

Dunna know can only see right in front of me... neigh😀

The goal wasn't poor marking - it was poor play in the midfield area were we gave it away cheaply which left us exposed in transition.

Equally we won battles In midfield too, nothing to get too worried about as that’s how a game of football goes. The biggest issue was worralls positioning for their goal, he was too far forward when play was breaking down which left smith exposed when they eventually came away with the ball.

Yet people were moaning about him being too deep against Northampton

At bit the down side of the 343 and 352 system. If you have the ball the wing backs bomb on then if you then lose it cheaply quickly in MF you get caught with your pants down. That's what happened Sat. A bit of sloppy play, a few unfortunate ricochets  and Smith/Walker? were left stranded with the wing backs nowhere.

Think DC said it. Playing that system you can't give the ball away cheaply in midfield.

At one point during their goal you can practically throw a blanket over 5 of our players, they are so close together. Once Walker steps out of the middle then smith ends up being overloaded on his side. To be fair they moved it quite quickly to make the chance.

You've got to ask where was the defensive midfield player. There shouldn't ever be a situation where the ball gets turned over in midfield and with one pass a team is running at the heart of Vale's defense but it happens far too often. Vale often get away with it against Lge 2 teams but Brentford clinically exposed this.

Also, when Vale play 3 at the back the space will always be behind the wide players if they push up.

Double whammy on Saturday, no covering defensive midfield player and wide men had pushed up.
