Frustrated I can't go as I can walk to Prenton Park. Because I know it well, I can say it's a tight ground. Holy hoofing the ball high and left all game like yesterday won't work. Nor will Pett taking too long on the ball in midfield. Tranmere have improved their strikers since we played then in game 1. That day they controlled the possession but we offered serious direct threats in spurts and the draw was about right. Northampton set up well yesterday. They marked Wilson effectively and showed Hussey on to his right foot. Also defended their box well. I'll ignore the stupid referee!

But this team / squad is capable and its about consistency. Because of the nature of Prenton Park, and the possession Tranmere can maintain through their inherent style, I don't think a park the bus approach will work. I think it has to be made an all action physical game pressing from the front. We do have slightly better players than Tranmere if they're up for it. Most of all get to Spearing and don't make mistakes at the back. Holy command the box.

Sounds like we just have to watch their recent game at home to FGR Warren and learn from that?

I don't like the Met Office weather warnings for the weekend--another postponed match is NOT what we need at the moment.  We need to keep playing and gaining those points!  Fingers crossed it isn't another late Salford-like call-off.

I dread having to play on Tuesday and Thursday of the last week of the season with Exeter on the Saturday.

They say that they had the pitch relaid and have not had any issues with drainage since. It's going to be relatively dry tomorrow, with a bit more rain on Friday. The one thing that could be an issue is wind but currently forecasting 20 mph which is blowy but won't cause damage. Fingers crossed!

Gale force winds on the Wirral for most of Thursday and Friday with gusts approaching 70 mile an hour on Friday.Sunshine and blustery showers on Saturday.I think a lot depends on whether there is any damage done by he storm.

Confirm from walking distance to Tranmere it is very windy.

Going be a tough cpl wks 5 games in 15 days, 4 away

I like the 4 away. I think they are games we can win because we have found a solid defence. It's been a while since we played really well at home - excepting Forest Green perhaps. But a key is to do well at Tranmere and not lose confidence. Squad depth is good. They can be rotated.
