Match Thread: Salford City v Port Vale Postponed

I suppose it’s possible that the pitch was playable earlier but deteriorated closer to kick off.

If you look at grounds around Greater Manchester with similar setups to Salford, Radcliffe Borough, West Didsbury & Chorlton, and Wythenshawe Amateurs all had their home games called off around 2pm yesterday.

Salford’s Twitter account announced the postponement at 1.29 - the pitch may have been inspected but it didn’t happen at 1.30.

I’m sure the decision was done and dusted by the time when both teams announced there was going to be a pitch inspection 15 minutes earlier.

The ref, Bowyer, the groundsman and Clarke - who arrived last - were all on the pitch to confirm the decision.

Will Mr Neville be refunding my money spent on Guiness and gin between 2 and 6 when I'd of been occupied at the game?

Could think of worse places to be,  had a great afternoon made the most of it.

Never ever entered our heads it might be in doubt we were in Nags head and the police came in and told us at about 1-15 that it was off .

Too much common sense that mate.

Well, my prediction for the game didn’t work out. I had a similar challenge when I was working in Manchester, travelled to Accrington for a night match, heard the game was off as I sat in the Crown pub!

By the way, travelled down on Saturday to my home in Bovey Tracey and had a great trip, fuelled by oatcakes and pikelets! 😊

Will watch the game on Tuesday and looking forward to 3 points.

I’m sorry, but I can’t stand by and let West Didsbury and Chorlton be disrespected in this manner. Great little outfit, superior facilities… if there’s was called off that late it could only be foul play by the opposition.

Wondering if the game is likely to be played the 15th February, other than this date and 8th March, we have no available Tuesday until the last Tuesday in March.  I don't think we can risk putting in April incase of any bad weather in the coming weeks and having more games off.

Its been re-arranged for Tuesday 5th April.
