Disgusting. If there is one club who can get a pitch sorted, it should be then given the millions washing around. Pitch inspection far too late.

In fairness, Rochdale's game also called off. Must have been a lot of rain around the Manchester area and Gary Neville has just Tweeted an apology to all supporters and committed to paying for supporters' and the official coaches for the re-arranged fixture.

3 hours spent on the motorway what a waste of Saturday. Can’t believe only had 90 mins notice. <ovf censored> <ovf censored> that is. Non league club masquerading in L2. What’s the point if paying big wages if you don’t have the club infrastructure. Tinpot <ovf censored> club.

What's irritating me now is Gary Neville and Salford are coming out of this smelling of roses on social media just because they have given food away, no mention now, of why the game was called off so late, the groundsman would have know at 8am the game was in doubt and with the forecast for more rain this afternoon the inspection should not been as late as 1-30pm and to add insult to injury the pitch was declared unfit at 1-32pm so it didn't need a detailed inspection, there was no doubt, it must have been obvious, Neville giving a masterclass in how to turn a negative into a positive.

Lots of heavy rain in that area to be fair, motorway was treacherous in places.  Given the forecast an earlier pitch inspection may have been wise.  That said the RS commentary team did say the ref and both managers were consulting on the pitch so I guess DC must’ve agreed to call it off.
