Not Gibbo. Looks a bit past his best. Done alright without pulling up any trees. The corner was about the first decent set piece delivery. And that said, they made I right hash of defending it.  In a polarized world of social media "ay's ow reet" doesn't cut much. Put in a decent cross for the Wilson header.

Solid defensively. Done alright. Nothing special.  But not crap.  Think Hall is the better signing just slightly.  Smithy and Hall could do a job in a 4 at the back. Martin just looked surplus to requirements today without doing badly.  His heading is just - weak.

I think some fans still have a 90s obsession with players swinging crosses in to the box. I still maintain we don’t have the forwards to be playing that game type of game constantly. Maybe he’s settling in but his delivery hasn’t been as consistent as I expected it to be and that was certainly hyped up before he came. As with other players he can be sloppy in possession at the back too. Is he better than what Worrall or gibbo have produced playing wing back? Probably not so far IMO. Is he a steady player that will do a decent job for us? Yes absolutely.

Frankly we have been spoilt with Worrall and Gibbo as wing backs, energetic, positive, dynamic and IMO 2 of the best in that position in our league.  Bear in mind he’s been brought in to replace Gibbo at left wing back so that we have a left footer there. But one of our best performers of the season was dropped when Hussey came in, so he has to be producing better performances than Gibbo did and I don’t think he has so far.

I think as a wingback he’s defensive minded, sits too deep at times to become a left back when he should be higher up the pitch, and apart from the odd occasion doesn’t  look to get beyond the opposition full back. But he’s steady enough and like I said we’ve been spoilt by Gibbo and often what we already have under own noses isn’t always appreciated when a player comes to us from a higher level.

That’s just my 2p based on the games he’s played so far. He’s certainly not a scapegoat for me and no doubt he’s a steady player who’s always going to be a 6 or 7 out of 10 every week. But he doesn’t have the spark of a Worrall or Gibbo that can worry an opposition fullback and when you play with wingbacks you need that spark and fire in a player.

Any quality,yesterday,was coming through Hussey.

I think the majority agree with that,it just seem some watch a different game or just need someone to target i am all for differing opinions but i just never get this targeting of our own players,I am not the biggest Amoo fan at all but never would i single him out and constantly target him

Steady good player who will be appreciated more when we have Proctor back as his quality will come to the fore then I believe as Proctor would have buried all them 3 chances missed yesterday abiet one was a lovely ball in from Wilson not hussey for young Harratt who's movement was good but header was poor .

I do think we probably need more pace in that position but I do not think he is doing a bad job,2 clean sheets in a row against a free scoring side at home v Leyton Orient and a team who under Keith Hill (a very good lower league manager by the way )who are  fighting for there lives and playing that lad who terrorised us last season Tyrese Sinclair in heavy defeats v Mansfield 7-0 on aggregate.

So that would suggest to me we not  only have a set piece specialist who can help us get a  vital goal but someone who is solid and can firstly help Vale close the door at the back .

A very good signing .

No Gibbons though .

Man of the match for me yesterday,

Not man of the match for me but certainly one of the better performers and with an assist.

I've just done an opinion piece on the front page about fans needing to give players time - in the case of that feature it was about allowing James Wilson time to find his feet after injury. I think Wilson's performance yesterday shows it can take a few games for some returning players to get match fit. Not all players, some seem to be able to slot right in, but Wilson seems to be one of those who needs a few matches to get used to League Two pace after a break.

I think the same applies with the new signings. While some (Connor Hall) can seemingly fit in seamlessly, it may be that the likes of Hussey need a few games to find their feet. Hussey has played four games for us - for me I think it would be fairer to see how he's doing after ten games, not four.

I genuinely don’t know what some others are seeing if they don’t think Hussey has done well so far. Obviously he’s not a dynamic runner like Gibbo but that’s ok, not many are in his league on that. What we have had is some quality deliveries coming in from that side (when Proctor is back fit will become even more of an asset) and although it’s not the glamorous side of the game we look really solid defensively down that side since he has come in.

I think that centre half is an easier position to quickly bed in to a new side.

You're facing the play, so can see everything, it's a position where you can keep it simple and build from there.

As long as you do the basics, everyone is happy.

It gets more complex the further upfield you go, and expectations are higher too.

Hussey was much better in the second half yesterday. A steady quality pro, you need that. We do have limitations up top without Proctor and it shows. Amoo and Wilson doesn't work, the young lads run and raw. Harratt looks the pick and is aggressive. he made some great early runs yesterday, nobody was on his wavelength and he faded.

Let's see what the next two games bring. DC says it's game by game but these are crucial imo.

Poster who started this thread is an absolute knob sack. Apart from Wilson, he was the best player on the park for me. Everything in the 2nd half came through him. Are you on crack?

What about the clever corner in the first half from which Harratt hit the post?

Yes but apart from the two corners, one from which we scored, and from the other hit the post, and helping keep a clean sheet, he didn’t do much else.
