Match Thread: Port Vale v Salford City

One of those nights where we could have played until dawn and not have it go in. Late pen shout looked nailed on as well.

Didn’t deserve to lose the game but seriously disjointed 2nd half once we went behind.

Clarke’s first crisis I would say given three successive league defeats and tricky fixtures ahead over the next 5 or 6. On tonight’s evidence it’s difficult to see us as a promotion winning side.

That was really poor, promotion looks a long way off with the last two performances as do the play offs. We need some spark in midfield and quality everywhere else on the pitch.

Good god that was dreadful. Back to the vale of old against comfortably the worst side I’ve seen this season. Some awful individual performances here. Tactics crap as well again, didn’t make sense at the start and then we actually dominate the half and then swap it around again.

Worrall was appalling 2nd half, edmonson tries hard but looks like he’s got very little ability. Though Walker was poor, Pett as well. Only players I thought that actually impressed were Garrity and Hussey. Hall until he went off as well. Dreadful. Seriously dreadful.

Fire second half and lacked fluidity and the ability to pass the ball. Limited movement and no real thrust. At the moment we lack confidence and seem a fair bit of a play off side.

Hopefully, we can rid the home form and go to Orient and put up a fight?

Trying to take more positives from the game but struggling to do it.

We look to have lost all our confidence. So much uncertain passing and anxious build ups that lack composure. When we got chances, they became clumsy scraps.

It all looked very desperate. The only concern is that Hussey doesn’t look anywhere near as good as you’d have hoped.

I really think that break completely ruined our habit of winning and a big problem is that three games back have been really tough ones. All three would have been tough if he we had been match fit, let alone after such a break.

My only hope now is a win against Orient on Saturday. We need to win fast.
