I asked a friend who is a Shrewsbury Town season ticket holder about Walker. He said, I vaguely remember the name but I don't remember him doing much. He remembers Antony Grant though and couldn't believe that we let him go.

We didn’t let Anthony Grant go, he wanted to leave. We were speaking to his mother at orient.

He had the ball and usually a goalie has his leg bent ready for the landing.  Covolan lead with his foot out, made no attempt to pull his leg back and made contact with their player.  He had plenty of time to pull his leg in, but never did.

This gave the ref no other choice but to deem it dangerous play.  If Covolan had his leg bent then you would have seen a different outcome and their player being warned or even a yellow card for a foul on the goalie.

We used to practice this scenario in training sessions and the coach always said if you lead with your foot, you could end up injuring yourself in the hip and/or knee.  Then when you hit the deck after the contact you could injury yourself from the landing or knock the wind out of yourself as your probably going to land off balance.  Hence always lead with a bent leg as you are ready for the landing.

It's even worse than that. His leg is bent and then it shoots out directly into McKirdy's stomach.

I can't believe a debate is being had. As stonewall as it gets.

I was saying it from the perspective of a Shrewsbury Town fan who watched him play. If he wanted to leave it was because we weren't managing him properly.

Or he wanted another signing on fee and more money.

Just re-watched again in slow speed and as you say he was in the right position to land and should have just done that.  But as you say, he then shoots his leg out to catch McKirdy.  This makes it even worse and wonder what the FA will make of it.  Hope the ref report just says dangerous play and they don't look at the video evidence as the suspension could be worse.

Think grant wanted to leave rather than us let him go, Walkers level is probably league 2 to be fair rather than league 1

And that is exactly why we need his bit of grit now. I love all our midfield 3 on their day, but those days are becoming increasingly rare. Shame Taylor is suffering at present. BUT will say again, win two games in hand and we are back in automatic.

Many of us on here have a soft spot for Lucas and want him to succeed, but there was only a small chance of coming back in the second half after his incident.

Hope they ban him for rest of the season it will do us a favour

The reason why we lost is because it's Swindon, just like Walsall it's a team we seem to save our worst performances for, get no luck against and generally lose against the majority of times. Before the season starts you can always put a blank across the games against Walsall and Swindon.
