Must be honest mate was hoping April job. Nice balmy evening. All our players back and decent ish weather.

It is telling mind we didn't set it for the Tuesday after... shows good thinking to allow us the time by having it in January for the big two up top or any new signings to be done by then.

Also I guess you have to factor its a mutual thing with FGR too and the EFL.

Just personally a night in short sleeves in April with a expectant bumper crowd appeals more to the casual fan than shivering taters off in February.

Most of those games I can understand, Swindon-City defo, plus always a good chance of an upset if Champ team at home v Prem, and will be an audience for Forest given their history, Millwall v Palace could be a bit tasty too.

Man U-Villa and WHam-Leeds tho? They sound good games on paper, but they won't be as bothered about this as they are the two league games every year between the same teams, and so you'll basically just get a reserve match. Surely Chelsea-Chesterfield should have been chosen before those, or Kiddy-Reading, even if our game wasn't?

Oh well, more chance of a decent crowd if not on TV I guess.

You can watch premier v premier every weekend, if I was a Chesterfield fan I would be well upset. What has happened to the glory of the FA cup, premier clubs have no interest in it and hardly need the TV money.

Was a facetious comment. Clarke will win 3 promotions.

Carol said in an interview on 5Live (I think) that she wants Vale in the Championship before she retires.

That would all be good - except, I can see her retiring from work...but not cutting ties with the Vale?

Oh well, I guess it's back to just listening again. The FA and the EFL really need to get their act together so video can be shown via iFollow of FA Cup games. I for one would happily pay the entrance fee or more to watch on iFollow..
Can you not go to this one, as it's at home? Agree with your point re ifollow though. For every game of the season. All they're doing by being so restrictive about it is excluding potential customers who either can't or don't want to attend games in person. Like you say, the lost revenue argument can easily be addressed in the main by making it the same price or more than actually going (I think it should actually be a couple of quid more). Yes you may get a few fans watching 1 sub together, but few would do this, IMHO. And I really don't think attendance would be affected. Worth a trial at some clubs for 6 months surely, from a cost/benefit/impact analysis surely? But it's not up to the FA/EFL. it's the TV companies, and outdated rules that prevent 3pm games from being televised in the UK. Even more ridiculously, you can't even listen on the radio if you're outside the RS area, even in the UK I believe! You have to pay ifollow for that 'privilege'

Phil, I live 3000 miles away so not so easy to just pop over to the UK or else I would consider it. iFollow is a "godsend" to fans like me.

Is the FACup the only competition not covered by iFollow ? If so the problem lies with the FA. The restrictions applying to all competitions are a separate issue.
