Cricket - the Ashes 2021

Shambles. Batting is a joke, need a complete change around in that batting line up. Even root has finished with a really poor average. Crawley looked decent again…. Burns was ok, the rest atrocious. Stokes dismissal was really poor, man on the boundary set for that shot so he plays it. Popes dismissal just proves to me he isn’t up to it either.

Every single batsman in that top 6 or 7 for England should not play test cricket for England again unless they can score a few runs 50s 100s for there county teams as none of them have been good enough.

Trouble is they probably will score 50s and 100s for there counties it’s the county championship that isn’t good enough and all the money is in one day cricket

Ban people like stokes archer Curran malan ect from playing in the IPL and make them play county cricket. Also don't arrange many one day games focus on arranging more test games. This series has been a joke I reckon the England's women's team would have Performed better than this men's team has.

Batters letting us down again. Bowlers have been very good this series. Anderson, broad, wood and Robinson all have very good averages. Batting just isn’t there

Let us down is an understatement.

Ten wickets lost in 90 minutes says it all.

We been taken over by one day cricket.

England were 2nd best in all aspects of the game in this seriies, Rob's "Trepidation" in the opening post was well founded.

England have to improve the batting but I don't buy the blame on the short forms of the game 'cause other nations play the short forms and appear to produce test quality batsmen or have I missed something.

England got the worst of the conditions on the final day in Hobart but there's no excuse for 10 wickets lost in 90 mins.

Mark Wood's bowling on the final day and throughout the series has been a plus point, it was a different game when the Aussies faced him, jumping around the crease, playing rash shots etc, he made them look like the English batsmen but he didn't appear to have another strike bowler in Aussie conditions to back him up.

If England are to win in Australia at least 2 or more genuinely quick bowlers are needed and ideally a test class spinner. The batting needs attention but the bowling is key.
