Maybe completely left field and an odd shout here, but has Walker ever played / can he play at CB? If we’re going to stick with 352 every game (which it seems we will) I can’t help but think our extra defender is usually wasted, someone like Johnson pushing forwards. I think Walker is a great player with a range of passing but don’t think we could leave out Pett, Conlon or garrity. No idea if he could fit in at CB in a back 3 but something I think could work.

Change it as much as we can for tomorrow, not fussed with the result, hope to maybe see some of the young lads get a go off the bench

He can. It was his main position for Crewe.

Use science to assess the players …. Unless a player is showing signs of fatigue and a resultant increased risk of injury then play a strong team and let’s see if we can progress … there’s always the option of easing back in training.

Those bra things they wear house a GPS which monitors their runs - intensity, speed, where on the pitch and when they’re making the runs too. It all gets analysed.

I’d look to get out of this competition and rest as many first team players as possible. We’re wobbling in the league and need to stabilise our position and regain our position in the top three. Is there still that rule in force where you’ve got to play a certain number of players that played in the game against Hartlepool.?

Surely a game for Burgess to play .

Tidy footballer good luck to the lad hope if selected he puts in a good display .

I'd go with

      Stone

Cass Legge Johnson Benning

          Burgess Walker

Politic     Conlon     Hurst

Unknown (Lloyd if fit enough play ).

Looks a good side that night off for all the others bench made up of hungry youth team with Pett Garrity if required and Amoo or Rodney as a goal v these could kick start his season and who's to say he wouldn't get one .

That's my team obviously if Taylor fit he can play the Conlon role

Legge to score for Vale and Vale to progress with 2-1 win
