Match Thread: Port Vale v Walsall

Has not going tomoz v Oldham but am going tues weather permitting thought I'd build up yet another home game v Walsall the team who seem to have a extraordinary sequence of good results especially at Vale park .

Do not want list them as being 2 many awful displays v the saddlers no wonder they have sold 1600 odd tickets if you support them you should come no idea what there average home gate is but if you are a saddlers fan why wouldn't you come anyway more money for the Vale .

Anyway enough about them as Colin Garlick says tickets are selling well for this game he also worrying was on about the Rotherham game (Colin do not have lots of tickets for that game they will not sell in that cup competition max 50 will go there).

So wouldn't it be great see 7500 plus on tues in the ground theres no reason whatsoever why at 20 quid get in for a adult 12.00 for 18 to 21 year olds why folk shouldn't come out to give the lads everything on tues night (support ).

We will need them

Gonna be a bit tasty this one. They're coming in numbers to give DC loads of abuse, so hopefully we can brush them aside and have a good laugh at their expense.

Unless we have a nightmare at Oldham, I don't see any reason why it won't be 7500+ on Tuesday. Should be a cracking atmosphere.

They have sold 1431 according to Twitter and expect bring at least 1600 maybe more depending on tomorrows  result. Be interesting on what the home numbers for this game will be as we don't usually get good gates for night matches apart from that Shrewsbury match about 10 years ago. Also can't remember the last time we beat these at home so surely we must be due beat them at vale park.

2014 1-0 at VP Myrie-Williams scored the year after we'd gone up.  Can't say I remember it tbh?

I remember beating them a couple of times mid 2000s, Lee Matthews scored in one and Chris Cornes may have got the winner in the other(3-2 after being 2-1 down)?  Our record against them is hardly one to write home about generally considering I wouldn't class Walsall as a particularly big club, 44 wins to our 24 is a bit of a sorry one.  They really have been our bogie side in period of our history!

If they beat us 0-10 on Tuesday, it doesn’t change the fact we’re on the upswing and stable they’re on the downswing and doing it on the cheap. Those two paths are like turning a cruise liner and DC knew it and knows it even more now.

All they have is these possible little pebbles to throw at a Ferrari as it speeds away, but let’s not even give that to them.

Remember losing 1-2 after scoring in 1st min. after they had a man sent off. I think John Woodward scored both their goals.
Remember Brian Horton missing a penalty at their place to earn a draw.
Tommy Mac. used to call their old ground all sorts of names. Great memories🚾
