Port Vale striker James Wilson

Port Vale forward James Wilson will be out for several weeks because of a broken bone in his foot. Massive blow for us.

Not a big fan of Lloyd and Rodney really needs to step up. I'd imagine DC will start Amoo up top on Saturday.

Sooner Proctor & Wilson are back the better.

Not going to be any time soon for Wilson sadly.

Because of fixture congestion etc we could easily be looking at 10 to 15 games at least.

I hope Politic is ready to step up more regularly now, though I can't work out whether it is fitness or formation that means he hasn't played that much. He's a really exciting player on the few occasions I have seen him.  Quick feet and packs a shot.  Fingers crossed we can see more of him.  Rotten luck to have lost both top scorers to long term injuries.

What a blow.

Now the test is here. Not sure Politic is a striker up front, even though he has a terrific shot on him. He looks really good when running at defenders from midfield.

Up front is a massive issue now and one D.C. needs to solve quickly. We could be several games away before Proctor is back although i believe Wilson is showing up as the main player up front.

Rodney has to step up now. Have no confidence in Rodney or Amoo personally, dont see either of them as a front two player but this is all we have. Lloyd is an option and i am sure he will be used over the coming weeks.

This was always the danger we might face with the playing history of Rodney and Wilson. Wonder if D.C. has another solution / system to play.

Our best three up top are now Amoo, Politic and Rodney, followed by Lloyd. The sticking point for DC is that none of those three readily puts in the hard yards. Chasing back is just not something they do. So my guess, for what it's worth, is that DC will play Lloyd on Saturday, with one or two of the other three with him depending on the formation he plays. I'm not sure about Lloyd at all particularly from the Bradford game where he fluffed two golden opportunities to score but he's a hard worker, keeps the opposition defence busy and therefore may let in the others.

We really could have done without this so I'm just hoping Dazza gets this latest challenge right.
