Angol is a dirty player and needs someone to fight him.

As against Beesley, a fit Leon Legge would have eaten him alive. And as at Sutton, our lack of aerial dominance at the back has cost us. Football is a game of fine margins and this is one margin we need to close or it's going to cost us dear.

Agree entirely. On that showing today we are a team chasing promotion spot with Bradford behind pushing for play offs.

Fair result for me.

Reasonable assumption, however, something always seems to go wrong with Bradford. A solid outfit with decent manager. Pett was my MOM today. The Bradford lad No 19 Angol changed the game. Smith got battered.

We need Legge back but not at the cost of him being pushed back too early. Rodney looks off the pace for some reason, I am concerned if we lose both Proctor and Wilson.

Oldham are not going to be a nailed on three points! We need to get back to basics and play at 7 or 8 out of 10 . Hope we can quickly get back on track and get the next winning run under way.Today has not been the best but it’s another point there’s nobody in there squad an better than ours..

Spot on. Oldham may be next to bottom but they're fighting hard and took Exeter all the way today according to the Sky reporter, finishing 2-1. If we go there thinking it's a nailed on 3 points, we'll come a cropper. Let's hope DC's re-set message comes home hard. We need to resume our winning run.

I totally agree, mate. I was a bit surprised myself considering how well Politic has been playing.

Think Clarke will always favour our own players over a loan signing if they are available and if a similar standard. Politic got dragged off at half time against accy after being fairly anonymous and he doesn’t play through the middle so couldn’t replace Wilson anyway… Clarke will still be working with Rodney come the business end of the season long after Politic has returned to Bolton so it’s kind of understandable he brought him on to replace Amoo.

Lloyd is a loan player? Politic is a far better striker than Lloyd. He offers a hell of a lot more.

Lloyd played exactly like he played at Sutton. Every time he attempts to play with his back to goal he ends up on the floor.

If I was Politic I’d be fuming.

Covalan 7 no chance with goal made a good save early doors and made a good stop near the end
Cass 6
Smith 6
Jones 5
Gibbons 7
Worrall 6
Conlon 7.6star man cracking shot saved and put it on a plate for Lloyd score of which he didn't.
Garrity 6 gave the ball away a few times first half but I'm not surprised the amount of leg work that lad does is tremendous ,second half he was actually playing well as he got on the end of a ball in I thought he should have scored myself I'd have kept him on his strong work ethic would have given him.another chance and then he would have netted
Pett 7.5
Amoo 7.4
Wilson 7
Subs I'm not going mark thought Lloyd buzzed about and should have scored ,Rodney never got the ball so no comment and Taylor just wasn't involved .

Very generous this week mate. Would agree Pett was our best player today.

I like Cass, but can't help but feel that he's playing more minutes than we'd like as a result of poor recruitment at the back over the summer.

Have you been watching the same team as me? Cass and Jones have been great recruits this season and Martin has been a good backup to Legge. How has that been poor recruitment at the back?

The only new  recruit in the back line to struggle is Johnson who has been dealing with injuries and not got going yet.

I really enjoyed today. Two decent teams for the level and a great atmosphere. Fair result in the end.

So far this season has shown we are top seven / three potential.

Massive next 3 games. Proctor out. Wilson possibly doubtful. Rodney poor, my thoughts. Amoo trying but not the answer. His effort for the goal was excellent but it glossed over a less than convincing performance for a lead striker

January massive for us. I believe we need a number 9 and , if Legge doesnt become the center back and play as he did in first few games, we need a dominant centre back. Both these players need to be Div 1 standard and i believe we will get to div 1 this season.

I agree about Legge and he was playing well. But I think we are all a bit guilty of misconceptions about our form with him in the team

I was at Stevenage when he got injured. After that game we had a record of 0-3-1 .

So yes he was playing well ( didn't start at Northampton ) so only played 3 games .

Cant believe we got people criticising Cass on here, he has been excellent and him and Jones maybe not at their best today but they are both part of the reason why we done so well this season.  I have no doubt if had a back 3 of Smith, Martin and Legge, we would have no where near created as much and scored as many goals as we have.  When you play the system we do, you need your right sided and left sided centre half comfortable on the ball.  The Mansfield game when Smith had play there, we were all over the place.

I was worried about this match beforehand and am pretty happy with the point. We've pulled further away from Northampton and not lost in a game where we weren't at our best and the opposition were pretty decent. Bradford have got some good players and made it tough for us.

We could have won it with Lloyds chance towards the end - thought he was pretty good when he came on personally, he was pretty much assaulted by their center half.

Hope Wilson isn't out for too long, he's some player, the determination he showed for his goal was brilliant - he made their defenders look crap and has it in his locker to change games.

Pett was our best player for me, he was brilliant at times and didn't think his level had dropped at all. Some of the lads were clearly affected by the cameras being there, thought Cass, Jones and Garritty gave the ball away a lot with silly control or passes. Garritty looked up for it though and he is definitely the best in the air out of our more attacking players and I thought Taylor was a bit powderpuff when he came on. They are all good players and I think will be back on it again next week. 3 points against Oldham and it's a good return!

100% correct. Politic would have revelled running direct at their defenders and pot shotting from every angle. It was a mistake not bringing him on instead of Lloyd.

The team has entertained and performed well over the season. Hence we are serious promotion contenders and probably have enough to do reasonably well in League 1 with a few additions and departures as normal. But today we were misfiring. Gave possession away cheaply with simple and often inexplicable mistakes. Didn't function well as a team by way of pattern in attack. Didn't hold the ball up well enough at the front. Didn't take chances particularly well. Prone to not shoot when in a sufficiently good position to do so.

However, we didn't lose. Showed resolve. Keeper played really well. So we just need to sort the issues out on the training pitch next week and move on confidently to Oldham.

I would add that the Bradford centre halves just overpowered Lloyd. The ref let them do stuff which included basically throwing him over. I thought he was going to score to have the last laugh. But he didn't. So there are two things. Firstly he clearly needs to "get a body" as Klopp says. Secondly, he wasn't a direct replacement by type for Wilson. We needed to play to his strengths which I suspect are nippy in the box and run in behind. Not ball to feet with a big centre half right behind him. But he should have learned a lot from this game.
