Mansfield Away Oct 19th....(tickets)

If we take 500 on a Tuesday night then it's not a bad following. I know it's only meant be an hour and 15 travel time but with traffic it would be more like 2 hours to get there as there's always loads of traffic for night games. If it had been on a Saturday we would have taken at least a 1000. We were poor in both games against Mansfield last season but in the away game we were without 10 first team players and in the home game again it was more of a reserve line up due to Clarke picking the players like Pope.

I'd be disappointed if we did not take 700+ for this game.  We are top 4, even with traffic, probably only an hour and half, A50 never as bad as having go down or up the M6 for a game.  As Vale fans, we would be calling a team in top 4 small if they brought a following to a game at Vale even for a night match.  We not had an away game since the opening day of the season when travelled in big numbers so hoping we can do this, if Grimsby can take 1000 to Altrincham on a night match and the same to Woking on a Saturday sure we can do similar.

Hoping on Saturday morning I can get my ticket so not having pay the extra money on the day, maybe we should start asking for extra tickets for the away games as all the initial allocations seem to have been sold out this season and people then having pay extra on the day does not seem right.

The best place to park is on the railway station car park.  If you get the ground up on Google maps you will see a load of shops in the retail park behind the ground.  If you look a bit further up you will see a Burger King and behind that is the Robin Hood line station.  There is a decent sized car park there and you can walk across the retail park to the away end.  After the game you can get out to Portland Street then up to the A38.  Don't be tempted to park on the retail park - you'll get fined!

There is some parking at the ground which costs £5. There is also the station car park which costs £4 for the day. This car park is located behind the adjacent Portland Retail Park (behind Burger King), which means it is handily placed for the away end. It is also signposted from the town centre ring road. Otherwise, it is a case of finding some street parking, especially on parts of the Nottingham Road and side streets off it. Please do not park in the retail park behind the away end. Parking is restricted to two hours and is camera monitored, so you will end up with an expensive parking ticket if you do park for longer than the two hours.

Toying with the idea of missing out the Toyota Island A38 and carrying onto the M1 then shooting up to Junction 28 with it being rush hour...Any thoughts anyone?

That way is longer but can be shorter in time especially if there are roadworks on the A38. I’ll just ask the sat nav for the quickest use.

If you park on the club car park you will probably find the gate back to there from the away end shut at the end of the game. You’ll have to wait for 10 minutes or more to get through until the home fans clear. Happened to us last time we were there.

Hi guys, I have 2 adults and 1 Senior Citizen ticket available for this match. Unfortunately COVID has taken over mine and my Dad’s household so we can’t go.

Just looking to recover as much as possible.

I’m based in Stafford but can meet if it’s not too far (I’m COVID negative and double jabbed so I am allowed out lol!).
