An article from the Bristol media which contains a former player's thoughts on Darrell Clarke. 

Interesting to compare that with what has happened so far this season - sounds like he's doing the same thing at Vale right now...

I think it's also worth mentioning that DC took part in a memorial game at Bristol Rovers a couple of weeks ago It doesn't really have any relevance to the Vale so it wasn't reported locally but it was in memory of a long serving fan who had died. The likes of Ricky Lambert also took place. There's no specific report or photos of him but it was mentioned in the review of the game that Clarke received a "hero's welcome" when he was announced. 

I thought it was both decent of him to travel that way, in his own free time to attend the game and also that he's clearly held in much affection.
