Lovely bloke and great to hear how much work he's putting in.

His high positioning, pace, and and ease when the ball comes to him is key to our set up; it means we can use a nice high line and restrict space, safe in the knowledge Mad Lucas is on hand to sort things should we get done over the top.

There was a few times he nicely kept possession yesterday and allowed us to restart attacks. Worrall's goal came from one of his long kicks. Great hands from crosses on two occasions, nice and confident and will be a massive relief for the centre halves.

He still needs to work on being more assertive with his communication, as a couple of times players have headed balls which he was coming for. He hasn't had to make many top saves yet, but as said, that's because we're set up really well and don't concede many chances, which he's a key part of.

Shot-stoppers are great but keeping is about so much more than that. It'll take a while for us to settle down with him but since his opening day disaster he's not really put a foot wrong and been a part of our of the league's strongest defences.

Agree with all above. Does anyone quite understand what that star jump in the second half was all about though? It looked like he was trying to put the forward off from lobbing him but it left him in no mans land reliant on Smith to block which somehow he did.

If the lad shot it would probably have blocked it but agree, it made it very easy for the lad to stroll past him.

He's still got stuff to work on.

He will become a vale legend - we will all be wearing I Love Lucas Tee shirts with his face plastered on the front by the end of the season - I think he is ace - I posted yesterday about how long he took after the match to have selfies and autographs with loads of fans - absolutely top bloke (and just a little bit crazy) 🙂

Very noticeable yesterday not dwelling to much on the ball! As you move up the league players are quicker and sharper you will not get the time you had in the lower league. He is learning fast and his handling so far is impressive, got high hopes for the guy.

I cannot emphasise enough how vitally important it is that this 12ft flag gets waved about at Hartlepool away. Vital.

Some people have been far too harsh on him so far. He's made a couple of mistakes, sure, but he's learning all the time and should only get better. We've got a good goalie and a great guy.

People have been “far too harsh”  so far on several of our players.  That said, if a player gets sent off in two consecutive games then it’s bound to set alarm bells ringing.

I was very worried and unsure after his first few games, even Stevenage I wasn’t convinced. Since then he’s looked much more assured, thought he was very solid yesterday. As above I think all the new players have been judged far too harshly especially considering where we are in the league and who we have played.
