Can't find anything anywhere, possibly 400 maximum.

I was very impressed by our following. Given it is a 1,400 capacity away stand, it seemed very full. I thought we may even have had in excess of 500? Certainly more than any previous trip to their ground.

Their home attendance looked dire.

The one thing we all share is 'hope'. I have been 'hoping' for 65 years so there's no way I won't be 'hoping' until I breath my last.

My concern is the fact that Carol is making an immense effort to bring youngsters into supporting the club.

So at the minute we have over 1,000 new 'hopers' turning up for matches.

But have we got the type of Manager we need to keep those youngsters supporting the club.

Football has changed dramatically and turgid defensive teams who grind out results are not the future.

When questioned on TV after a match at Arsenal once about his team's defensive display a Stoke manager (Durban?) replied if you want entertainment go the circus.

Managers who set up not to lose, rather than score at least one more than the opposition, are not going to make those kids lifetime supporters... They will be off to the circus.

Covolan belongs in a circus. His antics certainly kept things lively at the end of the 1st half.

Having watched the game this morning, I'm a bit surprised at the general negativity.

First half was poor, but even so, we weren't carved open.

Most chances were our mistakes.

Second half was thoroughly entertaining.

All players looking good and doing their bit, with Jones and Woz outstanding.

Pace was higher, passing crisper, crossing superb.

We should have won, and need to score when so dominant.

I don’t agree about the crossing being “superb”. Stevenage dealt with a lot of them and only two crosses, one that Wilson headed over and another when Worrall got over to the far post could be classed as resulting in chances.

The 2nd half was decent, but when you look at how dominant we were, the lack of actual efforts on goal made and created was poor.

I agree that it was the fair result. But my point was not that. It's to see whether he will also accept that we should have won both home games. I suspect that he won't, and that all of his post match comments this season will be:

If we lose - deserved to lose, we were crap

If we draw - didn't deserve that. We should have lost. We were crap.

If we win - didn't deserve that. Very lucky. We were crap.

We've had four fairly even games but only have three points to show for it. Very binary stuff: 0-1, 0-0, 0-0, 1-1. With more luck we could have edged a couple of those games and got 1-0s but we need to be playing better and creating more if we want to make a genuine play-off push.

No offence but you seem to like predicting people's personalities and behaviours but you're not very good at it.

Maybe it depends on how you define a good cross.

I saw what seemed like a stream of quality balls into the area.

Not having anyone getting on the end of them is another thing entirely.

Clearly the two coinciding is the ideal.

Already, a few players who've had a ropey start (I'm thinking Covolan, Wilson and Benning) seem to be the targets of particular criticism. The manager knows these players and needs to be given some slack in ensuring their development. I'm particularly exercised with Wilson who I think is a class player but seems to lack confidence, for whatever reason. It's not going to help him or the others one little bit if the crowd starts to get on their back.

So let's cut them some slack, be a bit more patient and get behind the manager and the team as a whole - it's a long season!

Best post of the season so far.

It's hard say what the away following was as they were all spread out across the stand. Last time we played them away and fans were allowed to attend we took 313 and there looked more there than that if I had to guess I'd say between 400 and 500.

What was a pain yesterday, apart from Vale's 1st half performance, was the many white seats in the stands. watching on iFollow when a cross came into either box or when the ball was hit in the air the white ball against the background of white seats made it difficult to see and I often lost the flight of the ball or lost it altogether. Perhaps I need a trip to the opticians.

Early doors yes we would prefer 4 wins out of 4 games and apart from the first game we have had chances to score but we have also give chances for the opposition score so at present who knows how the seasons going pan out however if your striker is heading over unchallenged from 6 yards and miscontrolling and managing put the ball the wrong side of the post when it's easier score (yes folks will say he is getting in there score  )then we have a problem and it needs addressing as quickly as possible .especially when fans are commenting that he is strolling around also as he is first line of defence along with Rodney.

It's not being good enough that's for sure .

If any of your players think they are  Billy big balls it can demotivate the others not saying that's the case but for someone who has played for Man Utd I'd expect a much more all round terrific player .

He needs step up and quickly.

iFollow was difficult to follow a lot of the time. Camera was zoomed in too far e.g. didn't show goal when corners taken, so forever panning quickly to follow ball and stopping / revesing quickly too. Coupled with low steaming resolution this lead to a fuzzy ball passing out of focus blobs rather than clear on focus players.

Sorry, are you impressed by DC and DF's buzzwords and mixed metaphors?

I'm impressed by the honesty with which they have been addressing the huge task that was necessary, including the shipping out of...most of...the "dead wood"! I couldn't care less if people use buzz words or Klingon as long as they get the job done! Mixed metaphors??? - there are people on here who use mixed languages - do you know what a mixed metaphor is?
