Rodders

Recommended Posts

Has the possibility of becoming a cult hero . Although Covolan might usurp him.

Can't wait for him running at someone, even just winning a corner and the crowd all up clapping and waving their fists in encouragement . He could thrive off it.

A bit like this but we are more passionate.

Rodney was playing well in a bad team, scoring goals, got covid which can take athletes back to pre-season fitness through no fault of their own.

With a formation suited to strikers and better players in every position, players like him are always going to benefit most.

I love Rodders. Our best player for me.  But at this time we can only get the best of him as the left of a front three. Where he gets some space to run into. Without being an out and out winger. Which he isn't. Up top he does not get the chance to use his pace.  Other than chasing hopeful balls over the top. Cutting in from narrow left he is wicked.

I am sure he will develop. But for now I think that is his position. One of a front two? Not so sure, Maybe, if he pulls wide of his partner. Thought Wilson was class today.  It could work Rodders/Wilson.

Thought you said all the signings were donkeys 😁

with some god coaching this lad can be a 20 goal striker. he just needs to use his pace in the right areas. he has that much pace but how many times do you see him 1v1? because fir some bizarre reason he likes to drop into holes and get into areas that other players can do rather than play on the shoulder. with his pace he should really be threatening in behind all the time but he doesn’t seem to grasp how much of a threat he can be in behind. he needs to use his head a bit more and think intelligently about using his pace

So there you have it Rodders - just follow all the advice above simultaneously, and you will become a world class player. Simples.

Or, as John Barnes might have said:

You've got to hold or give, but do it at the right time,

You can be slow or fast, but you must get to the line,

They'll always hit you and hurt you, defend and attack,

There's only one way to beat them, get round the back.

Oh, and don't forget to score 20 plus goals, and provide a similar number of assists for Wilson and Proctor to do the same. No pressure lad. Good job we're here really, you might not have worked it out on your own..

tell me what is wrong with what i have posted then? Rodders is like Bolt with a football but very rarely does he make smart runs in behind. if he threatens in that way then opposition drops back and opens space for our midfielders and if they don’t then his blistering pace becomes a massive problem for opposition for 90 mins and in this league defenders aren’t the quickest to be honest. hopefully our coaching team gets that in to him this season
