Their commentary team saying Wilson best player on the pitch and covolan impressive until he got sent off… he read the play well and every time he came for the ball he took it.

Whilst Wilson has fallen down the leagues, his ability, technique and quality on the ball should be evident, you don’t spend so long at the top clubs as a kid and a pro without having some talent.

Full time.

1-0

Good workout played a an intensity designed to to injure anyone until it started getting a bit tasty.

Cant tell anything from friendlies really so looking forward to the season immensely.

I never give any thought to friendlies to be honest.  They're just a match fitness exercise and that's it.  Many players who have looked world beaters in friendlies have turned out to be pants and vice versa.  Some players just can't play at half tilt.

I wasn’t quoting you directly mate but the reply to your post.
I won't be gloating, and you can call me on that. I'll just be as disappointed as the rest. Likewise, if he tears up the league, I'll hold my hands up.

Thought the referee was dreadful throughout.

Couldn't wait to give Chesterfield a freekick for any soft innocuous challenges.

Couldn't see what Covolan was supposed to have done, but surely a referee with common sense would ask for him to be subbed, rather than charge over with a red card? (like what happened at Kidsgrove a couple of week ago)

Was he one of those 'local' refs that do friendlies near to where they live?

A tale of two halves. Thought we played less well in the second and though we came close, including a Wozza header that hit the bar, we didn't really threaten their makeshift defence. Midfield looked disjointed and Captain Tom never really got going with, correspondingly, few chances for Proctor and Wilson, apart from some choice crosses by Benning.

Covalan was excellent before getting a rush of blood to the head and going in unnecessarily hard on Nathan Tyson. What was he thinking? Wilson clearly man of the match and I was impressed too with Johnson and Cass. Leon was probably the only player who put in a better second half than first and he looked really solid, particularly when we were down to 10 men and under pressure.

So, a few things for DC to ponder for next week. Think it's nailed on that Walker will play instead of Garrity (and we'll be better for it) but otherwise one or two regulars might find themselves on the bench. How to make our attack more threatening is probably his biggest headache.

(c) RULE E3 OF THE ASSOCIATION
A charge of Misconduct pursuant to Rule E3 of the Rules of The Association may be brought
against a Player in relation to any incident arising in a Friendly Match notwithstanding
that the same incident has been dealt with pursuant to this Memorandum. A Regulatory
Commission considering a charge under Rule E3 in such circumstances shall have regard
to any punishment imposed under this Memorandum, and shall be free to impose a
suspension relating to FTCM, and/or NFTM and/or Friendly Matches, at its absolute

Is that from the FA handbook?

I'm not sure how anyone can make a judgement either way from the video. It looks like his right shoulder swings back a bit. He may have elbowed him he may not. He was certainly ensuring he didn't get clattered by Tyson. I'm not sure why Tyson followed him when he could have gone left once he cleared it, but it would be strange to try and get someone sent off in a friendly.

Typical from Tyson that. Definitely made the most of it, don’t want to see the keeper doing that in the season though, no need.

According to the Chesterfield forum Tyson and Covolon have history from last season .

That said it was very innocuous
