You can't seriously be forming views on the team 'not being good enough' from someone filming the game off his phone in the stands? 😂

You couldn't make it up, a wobbly disjointed view taken off a phone from the Lorne street near the corner flag, I hope DC ran through the footage with the players when the game was dissected.

Good news that the club will certainly be signing another striker before kick off.

........................................................Covalan................................................

.....................................Smith.............Legge...........Johnson......................

Worrall.........................Pett..............Walker..........Conlon..............Benning

.............................................Wilson..............Rodney.....................................

Guesswork at the starting eleven thinking the only two questions are over the back three and thinking Legge will start as leader at the back for the start of the season and Johnson will play....the midfield three are probably the best in the division as is the quality of service from wide with the quality of Worral and Benning at wing back and if Wilson and Rodney can click early then the season can really take off.

I thought you’d wrote off ‘old man’ Legge, and now he’s in your starting eleven! 😄

However, I do agree it will be a close call between Martin and Legge. I think he will go with Martin to start with, however if we concede from a set-piece in the first few games, I can see Legge being drafted back in. Jones at LWB also gives us more height and the advantage of that lethal long throw.

I think the team is being build on a Cheltenham blueprint. Robust, dangerous from set-pieces/throw ins with a little bit of individual quality.

Personally, I don’t care how we do it, let’s get out of this league! UTV.

I didn't go myself but good to hear Norman Collier is still doing the announcements in the Bycars

I've missed that

Me too... can’t wait for the first home game.... maybe Norman will have developed his unique technique of announcements further still during the lockdowns ‘

Assuming the 5-3-2 formation, or variation thereof, the centre of defence is the hardest to call, the rest of the team is fairly predictable.  Smith is nailed on unless not fully fit.  Tend to agree with you regards Martin, but could we even go with both Legge and Martin in the back 3, first game being away from home?  Smith /Legge / Martin would be a fairly tough back 3.

Could be pie in the sky if Dazzler decides to throw a different formation into the hat for the first game.

I didn't go, but I followed on twitter and had friends at the game who were impressed. I'm struggling to understand the negativity when we have just held our own against a recently relegated championship team, who fielded a strong team, restricting them to two set piece goals.

If we play to the same level in the league there's no telling where it could take us.

So we have problems with Paddock drains, Bycars tannoy, and music to loud in the Paddock, what about the team?

I'm looking forward to moaning about the sound system the drain system and cheering and supporting the team that Mr Clarke is going to turn into a winning system, keep believing together, our golden year ☀️🌞💯% up the Vale.

Just a quick note - Did anybody else notice the "Thanks for your support" banner go up on the scoreboard after they announced the attendance?

The eagle eyed may have spotted that there's a lovely image of Carol & Kevin one side & our old friend, John Askey on the other!

Bet DC had to double take...

i noticed it broke down at one point! nothing changes.😄
