Strange. Colin was interviewed last week and it sounded like the club was expecting to be able to let fans in, subject to the local authority granting a licence. Was the City Council the obstacle?

Probably, local authorities seem to be keeping covid restrictions as much as possible instead of easing them.

Did the council perhaps say that fans could be allowed in but not in what numbers and under the measures the club would have to take to let them in?

In the statement, the club point out that it's not practical to bring in a load of fencing, portable toilets, signage etc for a hugely reduced crowd and then for it to be removed two days later.

Crewe are apparently letting fans in on the 17th July at home to Wolves.

To be fair the whole ground is one big portable toilet. It probably meets the regs that way.

Could we have not just pushed the game back by 2 or 3 days for when there is no need for restrictions in place?

This clown running the country changes his mind from day to day who knows what he’ll decide come start of the season . but find it amazing 65000in Wembley tonight and for the final come august we’ll probably be restricted to 1500

Just seen Forest are playing on the 20th so assume they therefore couldn’t move our fixture back a bit to allow fans in. Seems a shame but that’s life in the current times I suppose!
