Some other observations:

- The young lad Dyer played well and showed some real promise

- We are a far bigger side

- Walker looked huge, solid, not the most mobile but kept it simple

- Wilson looked very mobile and had a cheeky laugh with the crowd when they asked if his goal was a shot or a cross

- second half was the better half

- Aidan Stone is a big unit and very very vocal

- Pett looked very decent, played the Joyce role but was far more mobile.

- Benning at LWB was quality both going forward with some nice crosses but also doing the defensive work

- Dan Jones was solid, he and Benning linked up well. He only did one long throw up the line but it was long indeed.

- Eden Bailey surprised me with how stocky / muscly he is… made some good runs. Desperately wanted a goal and got one for his efforts.

- Taylor played well

- Conlon looked his usual self

- Martin is bigger and not as skinny as I thought, didn’t do much, kept it very simple.

Could always give youth keeper 45

Spot on. Saw that Johnson was being given 3 weeks off because his season had only just ended, so seems fair that Covolan gets the same.(Wonder if Clarke forgot too when he talked about the 19 and only using 2 youth teamers and a trialist.)

I was also surprised how nasty it got half way through the first half… some bad tackles with bad intent going flying in.

Their winger damped on Wozza and was removed from the game. Smudge was getting stuck in and I was worried at one point it might boil over.

Calned down in the second half.

Seems odd not to let the transfer listed players have a chance to put themselves in the shop window when we play 6 youth teamers and a trialist

Not really. The game is nothing more than a fitness exercise. No scout is would be going to watch the game to take a look at player when you would only see them for 45 mins max.

Preseason is mainly about getting your own team set up and the players getting used to each other. I’d rather see our own players than those who aren’t even in the managers plans.

Those 3 transfer listed will go no matter what, whether they are paid off or someone comes in.

The only thing odd is your comment, We have a number of players who are trying to get used to each other and you want to put players in who will never play for the club again.... now that is odd.

Disagree. We need to get the team to blend together. I don’t think a transfer listed player impressing against kidsgrove would achieve much.

First game back, which is only a friendly and normal service is resumed with the moaning.

Exactly. This is purely a fitness drill. Nothing more. And a good chance for those who went to watch some live football!

This comment shows how much you know about football 😂 most of your comments are clueless but this is most stupid thing ever heard.

Not sure what you expected from someone desperate for us to sign up Guthrie and Robinson
