From what I’ve seen Tideswell doesn’t do much at all.

Sentinel 13.20 Tideswell announced friendly with Nottingham Forest, he would never call them Notts Forest.

Correct. I've changed the original thread title from "Notts Forest"

I used to work with a Nottingham Forest fan. 

It's NEVER Notts Forest. It's Notts County (Notts being short for Nottinghamshire, the county). Forest are always Nottingham Forest (Nottingham or Nottm being short for the city).

If you call them "Notts Forest" you're basically using part of their local rivals name!

p.s. Phil Sproson with his Forest connections would do well to know this as he often calls them "Notts" on Radio Stoke 😉

I spent the majority of my working life in the East Midlands, quite a few years with a Notts fanatic, who would go ballistic if someone said it. The strange thing is Notts play in Nottingham, but Forest play the other side of the Trent, West Bridgford,  which is in Nottinghamshire.

Yep, same with my work colleague. It was the gravest insult to do it 😉

Spent a few years there myself in the pre-Clough and Cloughie era. The locals always told me, Nottingham play in the County and Nottinghamshire play in the City. And don't forget, duck!
