Played Ok but Croatia looked very poor. Thought Sterling and Tripier played OK but still don’t think the pair of them should be in the starting line up. Good win though and we should top the group but not sure that’s a good thing.

A win is a win but saw nothing to convince me that we would beat Portugal, France or Germany in the last 16, happy to be proved wrong, find it criminal that Grealish can't get on even with 5 subs.

Not required for this match but I'm sure Jack will get a game against our friends from up north.Good decision by Gareth to play Razza at the end of the day.🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Thought it was a solid first performance overall against an always difficult side, in horrible conditions. The heat really made it a difficult game to watch at times.

Phillips was immense. He wouldn't have been in my 11 so fair play. Trippier at left-back when you have two world-class genuine left-backs was just bizarre, even if Southgate did get away with it. Mings is another than wouldn't have been anywhere near my own starting 11 but alongside Stones he didn't put a foot wrong.

Kane was poor by his usual standards but he won't be as ineffective against Scotland or the Czech's. Much more to come from him and the the likes of Foden and Mount.

In fairness Raheem Sterling has been horrendous, as usual. He has still not learnt how to kick the ball properly which I find staggering. How can you play in the Premier League and play for England but not be able to kick the ball properly?

Kane looks out of sorts.

Hopefully we'll play a left back next game.

Croatia are finished, if we don't beat these we might as well pack in.

Onwards.

The real question should be how on earth you actually think a player that has so many games for City under Guardiola can possibly be anything like as bad as you're making out? His finishing is often wayward but even when off form, Sterling's pace and movement is elite level. And that is exactly why Southgate picks him every game and he has played for one of the best clubs in the world and under one of the most renowned mangers in the world for years.

Sterling's main problem is that he's far from great when he has time to think about things. When he's doing something at 90mph he's superb.

I thought Mings and Phillips would be our weak links.  Shows what I know!

As did pretty much everybody else to be fair. It's not that Phillips is a bad player, but him and Rice just seems rather negative. But today it worked brilliantly. Mings did Maguire's job and was a pleasant surprise.

Yeah I often think I must not understand to be perfectly honest. Surely Guardiola should get rid of him?

I don't think I can think of anyone else who has played at that level and made the football look like a bowling ball. Why is he so bad at kicking it? It's his job so surely he has the time to practice like mad and get a bit better at it.

Like I said, his problem is when he has time to think about his shot or final pass. When he plays on instinct he's far better. But no opponent's back line will enjoy playing against Sterling, no matter how wasteful he can be.
