But from a footballing perspective, I can't see either of them becoming more attractive to clubs, the longer they train with the U18s and get no actual game time. If they're happy just collecting their cheque and just get a cozy work out 4 times a week, well, each to their own I guess. So while I agree that they've been put in this situation, 2 of the 3 aren't exactly young guns, so if I were them, I would want to get that new contract asap. Because the situation they're currently in, won't exactly get clubs lining up to sign them, the longer it carries on. Bit of a catch 22 I guess...

It isn’t about cosy work and happy to take a pay cheque. That’s just a myth peddled by fans who want a player to leave, they think players are happy to sit there in their slippers counting their money. No player at this level is going to be retiring a rich man from a career at a league 2 club. The reality is that it’s demeaning and embarrassing to be forced out of a club and made to train with the kids.  Realistically what player wants to lose time in such a short career by not playing? But at the same time they have families and commitments too, so why would they leave just yet if the offers either aren’t there or just aren’t good enough? Next time a player leaves and fans start to blame agents then look no further than instances like this as to why footballers up and down the country will always try to look after themselves, it’s because clubs have no loyalty when they want a player out.

People going off goal stats should be reminded that he is likely to be a fifth striker (behind Amoo in the pecking order unless he proves otherwise) and is probably a different kind of striker to what we have already.

Not that it should be about goal stats in any way shape or form, it should be about making the chances - the goals will come from all over the pitch this season.

People can’t wait to come on here and declare ‘Underwhelming’ 60 seconds after it being announced.

Welcome, buy into the work ethic and you will be sound.

I’m going to be really old fashioned here and actually wait to see him play before judging

Pfffffft call you self a vale fan!

Start the underhand comments now, he might read them so we have a chance to really make him feel unwelcome! Get stuck into him like the knuckle draggers who have started in the Twitter feed on which he has been announced… you know, the one he is most likely to read.

Idiots. Genuinely moronic.

It always baffles me… why would people be negative on a forum he might read (Twitter).

I have tried to ask the people who do it everything we sign someone and they go in… all I get is a thoroughly idiotic “because I can”

When pressed why you would WANT to start a vale players career off by making him feel rubbish about the prospect of playing for us then can’t give me a straight answer.

Surely, SURELY giving the lad some support to boost his confidence is the best thing for the club… surely? So why would anyone want to harm the club?

It grinds my gears clearly.

Idiots.

They aren’t the bad guys though. They’re not wanted by us, but I don’t blame them either for waiting til something decent comes along.

They may not be bad guys, but I think they've shown a lack of pride in allowing their careers to be stalled instead of actively seeking a change?

This is the standard answer, and isn't really an answer to my point.

And your loyalty point is so old it's not even funny! The only people who have loyalty to a club, are the fans! No manager, coach, player, steward or concession stand person have loyalty, and the sooner football fans understand, that this is a job for these people and they (like every other person would), go where they can get paid the most, the better! And this point is not a 'get out of jail free' card for the agents, because they are truly send here by the devil!

And I don't think every player are happy about being in this situation, but Theo certainly seem to be enjoying himself on SoMe...

Seems very grounded from his interview and excited to be here. Garrity was probably the most “underwhelming” signing on paper we made this summer and he’s been stand out, people grumbled over Dan Jones thinking the rumours of Benning were less likely to come true and he’s been very good so let’s give the lad a chance.

Has a League Two title under his belt which is more than we have as a club in decades so who are we to judge, played 32 times in that title winning side.

How do you know they haven’t but just haven’t been wanted? Or offered a deal?

In fairness if I had a guaranteed wage for another year and no one else wanted me I’d take the money to feed my family and keep a roof over my head as would anyone.
