Sorry just playing catch up on the thread and read Mckirdy has signed for Swindon. They seem to be a basket job of a club with all sorts of issues, sure I read players hadnt been paid. Well if thats his best option then says everything. Wonder if he will ever hear the sound of that penny dropping, seems highly unlikely.

Well, Swindon have had him on trial for a number of weeks before offering him a contract.  They say they've been very impressed with his attitude, so maybe the penny has finally dropped. If it has (still a big if) they could have a decent player on their hands.

We had him on trial as well and still signed him, hoping that he would take the chance offered. DC also re-registered him to give him yet another chance. He took neither it seems. Carlisle released him after a breakthrough season despite him being their top scorer. Hope it works out for him, I really do, but history strongly suggests it won't.

That's exactly what we did! 😂

Also about value though, isn't it?

The value of Joyce to Fylde is much higher than it would be for a lower end League 2 team.

Joyce's value for Fylde >>>> Joyce's value for Scunthorpe/Oldham.

It's not quite as simple as you make it, either. Joyce will be on good money at Fylde because he is a great player for the National League North, two divisions below the level we released him from. He'd be an average-poor player for Oldham. Fylde had to pay to get him. It is a reflection of his ability, that league clubs didn't consider him that valuable anymore, at least in comparison a tier 6 team.

Considering the finances of the Scottish Leagues beyond Celtic and Rangers, it's a bold claim that Monty will be on more money, considering he's currently on the bench.

Value?  These clubs aren’t worried about getting value as such, they simply have more money to throw around, in the same way that Salford do, and both Wrexham and Stockport to name two others.  You can say he’d be a poor player at Oldham but it’s purely conjecture on your part, as it would be if I said he’d be great.  There’s no way of knowing.  We must also consider that a lot depends on the other players in the team.

In the Scots Prem the bottom placed club receives over £1 million (from memory). With TV money and associated advertising/sponsorship, not to mention sellout crowds several times a season, I don’t think it’s too bold a claim to suggest Monty will be on a decent contract, the only proviso being that he won’t get any goal bonus etc whilst sitting on the bench.

I think I heard somewhere that he’s injured

After one of the friendly games DC said he was injured, a strain or slight strain or something similar, must be a hell of a strain 'cause he's not featured and appears to be the forgotten man. I sense something is not quite right.

Is this the first conspiracy theory of the season (noting that the season hasn't even started yet)?

Kurtis Guthrie was linked with Grimsby but never played a pre-season friendly for them so not sure what happened there. Only Gutrhie, Tom Scott and Dino Viser are yet to find new clubs

And only 3 have found league clubs

You just cannot wait to post utter garbage.
