Anyone seen Theo Robinson recently? Talk of him moving on has died and it looks like he will be our 3rd striker at this rate?

I don’t think any of the 3 transfer listed players are training with the first team

They won’t be named in the 23 man squad

I thought so too but when I checked on the EFL and PFA sites neither had any change to the 20 squad rule. A search on the the PFA site just brings up the Open Letter to EFL clubs, threatening the EFL with possible legal action. That was written on 8 April but there's no update to say the position has changed.

The relevant EFL Regulation says:

43.9 Squad Lists 

43.9.1  Clubs shall be permitted to name up to a maximum number of Players in their Squad List based on the following provisions:

(a)  in respect of Championship Clubs, 25 Players of which a minimum of 8 must be a Home Grown Player;

(b)  in respect of League One and Two Clubs: 
(i) in Season 2020/21, 22 Players of which a minimum of 8 must be a Home Grown Player; and 
(ii) in Season 2021/22 and each subsequent Season, 20 Players of which a minimum of 8 must be a Home Grown Player. 

If it's up to date, that leaves us scope to recruit just one more player. I hope the club knows!

I fully expected him to join McGreal at Swindon sorry probably in limbo now.

I think the 20 includes goalkeepers, unless they are under 21

Unless Stone and Hurst count as under 21, we already have too many including the 3 transfer listed players.

So if it only 20 players and that is 19 the last signing has to be a top striker......with U21 not counting then Lennon (CB) and (LW) Dyer should get contracts and a couple of U21 loan signings perhaps Swan as fourth striker a young right back.

If it were 24 players still think the squad lacks cover for Gibbons and Smith and competition for Hurst on the left wing and certainly two strikers....going to have to sign a few U21 players.

That letter was dated 8th April. I’ve asked Colin Garlick and he says the squad size is 22 over 21s plus goalkeepers so no panic!

So panic over five more signings......discounting old man Legge we have FOUR left footed left side defenders and just TWO right footed right side defenders and need cover for Gibbons and Smith..

Also obviously TWO strikers and a left winger......still think Swan (U21) would be a good loan signing as a fifth striker.
