7 signings all 6’ plus. Certainly not going to be out muscled this season.

To be fair you'd struggle to find a goalkeeper under six foot these days. But yeah five outfield players at least six foot is definitely not a coincidence

He is someone who I think would have been fantastic for us.

Aaron Collins 16 goals in 83 games for Forest Green and Pope 13 goals in 60 games during the last 2 seasons.  I know Collins is only 26 but could you imagine if he joined us, the reaction of some people on here.

After talks of Vigouroux and the like this feels like an anti-climax.

A man described by our director of football as an unprofessional liability during a very public spat where he was either forced out or walked away.

Was never going to happen.

I don't know what I was expecting from our goalkeeper recruitment this summer, but two blokes with less than 50 games between them at national league or above wasn't it.

Don't know alot about Lucas or Adrian and I wish them the best. After talks of Vigouroux and the like this feels like an anti-climax.

Where did the talk of Vigouroux come from,he was never going to be option,i guess he was linked by a dodgy rumour site?

I have just read that Stone's contract actually has the option of another 12 months,so could be classed as a 2yr i guess.

This is not a moan because i think we are doing quite decent business in the market so far, nothing spectacular but decent but what i will say is considering(according to Brown) we have one of the biggest budgets in the league we must have a fair bit left because for me minus Wilson i cant see any of the others busting the bank(we paid a fee for Garrity but that wont be massive),so it might get interesting soon

The obvious choice with picking two promising, but rather unproven keepers is that they are cheaper than having one top quality one. I feel the issue with Brown was that he was always going to be the No.1 and his period of howlers was not due to his ability but demotivation as he never had to fight for his place and was never going to be dropped.

With these signings they will be competing and that can only be a good thing to push them to improve.

Even so, It is still a gamble as they could easily both not be good enough over a season and Brown is huge gloves to fill. I don’t think we can expect these guys to be as good.

They need to be. Staying in league 2 for yet another year will not be good enough in my opinion.

Staying in L2 for another season would also create a club record because we've never been in tier four for longer than five consecutive years. It would start to feel like a prison sentence with no time off for good behaviour. This is our best chance because I think L2 may have bigger clubs in 22-23 - for one thing, there will be former league clubs coming up from the National with rich owners.

So I'm praying that DF and DC have got their signings right - in terms of the strength of the league, this looks like our best chance.

Good post.  Whilst football is a team game a great goalkeeper is almost akin to having a prolific striker.  The two most important positions to fill in the team in my book. I felt the standard of the keepers in the league was generally pretty high last season so, to my eyes, we’ve taken a bit of a gamble with both of the keepers in that they’re inexperienced at this level.  Just my opinion, I’m happy to trust the experts doing the recruitment on all these signings.

No.1 who seems to have confidence, passion, hungry to succeed in league football and trusted by DC, off the back of a largely successful campaign.

No.2 who is young, already has some experience, not content with sitting around I suspect and spotted above the million other young keepers looking for a chance.

looks good to me. Let’s get some wingers.

I find the fact that people thought we’d actually get Vigouroux quite amusing. Let’s be honest, there was very little chance of us signing Vigouroux. I think some people should be a bit more realistic.

Anti-climax? Not for me. We’ve arguably signed one of the best goalkeepers from the National League, whilst adding an understudy who played over 20 games in this division last season.

Covolan and Stone, for me, are an upgrade on a declining Scott Brown, the journeyman Dino Visser who hasn’t been able to break into any side in this country and an untested Tom Scott.

"My main quality is my talking – I like to be very loud on the pitch... I do pride myself on my distribution and my kicking as well."

Again the distribution seems to be a factor

Stopping a shot? Nah mate <ovf censored> at that.

Not sure how someone who’s never played in the football league is an upgrade on Scott brown.  Brown struggled last year but is still a decent keeper. Honestly I was hoping for someone like brown (when we signed brown) a proven player at this level.

Vigaroux was only at Leyton orient, not sure why that makes him immediately out of our league.

I would agree with visser but he actually looked a decent keeper when he did play, certainly a steady number 2 and we will never know on Scott. Happy with the games stone has played. However the number 1 is a bit of a risk imo in the most important position on the pitch.
