Doha

Thought DC was very clear that the transfer listed three are not in the clubs plan and need to find new clubs asap almost as if they will not on any scenario be registered or training even with the youth team the message was clear go now.....so it is not so much the club shifting the players as them shifting themselves.

Did he really say that?

Are Wilson and Rodney guaranteed starters or could another top striker follow in the coming weeks? Rodney gave far more than expected last season, that goes without saying. But I don't think he's quite ready yet to be considered a regular starter as an out and out striker, and Wilson for all of his talent does have a bit of a track record for injuries. Clearly we are still a striker or two short.

I think we may need a couple of strikers to cover for Wilson's potential injuries.  Tshimanga from Boreham Wood would be a great signing(he was linked a few weeks back amongst with other clubs) if he could be persuaded up north and would cost a fee assuming B/Wood have offered him a new deal. 23 and scored 40 goals last 2 seasons in the National league.

Would be great, but unlikely as he's been linked with a few in L1, including Oxford I think. Always a chance that interest doesn't lead to a firm bid though.

Yawn, where is todays signing? Doha needs to open another day on his sgning calendar... Maybe next week will be busy, or then again perhaps it will not and we will have a flurry later. Perhaps DF is on a scouting mission to the Euro's 😆

Kabongo Tshimanga is a good shout interesting that the lad is out of contract had a two year deal and is 23 BUT turns 24 on the 22nd of July.....a year ago Boremwood has a 22 year old goal machine under contract and wanted £350,000 and now the lad could walk in july.....offer a good 3 year deal and signing on fee.

Also given the squad limit of 24 would Will Swan (20) on a season long loan be good business the lad is a goalscorer.

Rodney/Wilson/Tshimanga and Swan would be a quality set of strikers.

Not exactly.

"I feel Theo, Danny and Scott are great lads but I want to change it around a little bit, I want to look at different things," Clarke told the club website.

"It's best to be honest with players that their future lies elsewhere early enough, so they can get themselves fixed up at other clubs.

"They're all decent lads but they're probably not the right fit for myself at the minute."

So yes, not in DC's plans, but that isn't exactly 'eff off and don't let the door hit your fat ass on the way out', so if they can't find other clubs, who knows? Don't think we can afford to pay them for nowt, Theo especially, so better to have him in reserve.

Given Whitehead got two successive NL promotions, I'm sure a Notts County, Chesterfield or Stockport (if they don't come up) or similar will take a punt on him, even if we have to make up a bit of a wage gap. Likewise Burgess, given form in 19/20, still young, won't be on massive wage. Think Theo is the trickiest one.

I've never seen Tshimanga play, although I've heard many of good word about him (mainly on here) - He seems the perfect kind of target that Peterborough go for and given there past record in fine tuning strikers to get them bigger moves, I couldn't see us competing with them. I know they've just gone to the Championship but I don't think that will see them throw out their model.

I would be shocked if we signed him but very pleasantly surprised

Good point about keepers if the first choice keeper is injured is there not an allownace for signing an emergency keeper outside the transfer window or some such regulation....if so Vigouroux plus a released young academy keeper perhaps from Manchester City.

Is there no leeway because I'm sure a Stoke keeper was an emergency loan in the play offs for Lincoln having already played for a few teams already.

What I was trying to word was that say if Vigouroux was our first choice keeper and say our second choice was say that ex-Man City Academy keeper who had played no league games for us was the back up there is some regulation that allows for the "emergency signing" of a keeper outside the transfer windows or used to be some such provision should the first choice get injured......thinking Vigouroux's distribution plus Walkers diagonals and Jones' flat fast long throw would constantly turn defenders running towards their own goal and would be great weapons to add to dead ball specialist Conlon's free kicks.

There must be mate as you can't tell me that Lincoln didn't have a single young keeper on their books .

Open to abuse / manipulation so why don't we join the party if allowed !

Precisely my point if there is such a regulation and we're almost certain there is then push the boat out for Vigouroux as number one then sign a 21 year old released ex-academy keeper as back up development player and if there is any injury to the first choice goalie use the "emergency loan" regulations which I think only applies to keepers everyone else does it......them the rules.
