I doubt much of what you've written there, is true.

The bigger job was turning round the basket case the club was after Aspin. So I should think you're not full of the 'facts'. Nor are any of us but I would be very careful taking anything DC says at face value.

ummmm...so you don't like DC criticising  former manager JA, because that's unprofessional...but you're quite happy using the term "basket case" to describe JA's predecessor's reign? Bit of double standards there, I think? Like "not wanting to criticise Carol"...but then criticising her!

That’s more like it, back to potential players.

If it’s the keeper, then a bit of research shows he’s 24 years old, 6’5” and described as good with his feet.

Was at Exeter and playing very well and broke his arm against Crewe... on recovery he went to Portsmouth as backup on loan as he wanted a new challenge but didn’t play.

Exeter fans were very complimentary before the injury and saying he could go and play far higher.

Can the vale be the platform to rebuild a promising career and springboard on?

Having a look on some of the Exeter forums, he refused to sign a new contract because he wasn't guaranteed a starting berth. Ended up going to pompey on loan to be their back up instead.

Feels like it could be a bit of a coup if we do get him.

I'd be somewhat impressed if anyone could accurately predict our transfers. Darrell and David aren't going round former clubs, tapping up old mates or even asking round recently released players from Premier League academies.

Assuming next season is a success then the recruitment team deserve immense credit.

Isn't that always the case? Ultimately managers get judged each season on recruitment. Regardless of what posters say in June if the players look awful and we are bottom half come December there will be widespread indignation on here. It's the ultimate Dickins novel with each seasonal chapter having its own plot; although still ending in roughly the same place.
