So we have released 5 of the players from the team that scored a goal against Manchester City including the goal scorer. Chelsea have only managed to score 1 goal against them in front of a smaller crowd. Thoughts?

DC and Flickers have their todgers on the chopping block. If they pull off a blinder with recruitment  and we finish top six they are gods.

If we recruit a pile of dross worse than most we let go, they are toast.

Don't get me wrong, I hope not.  Hope it all works. But for some reason I feel they are a bit full of themselves with management speak. We'll see.

That's not fair. Jones is a proven performer in the National League. Crookes isn't. Jones should prove to be an upgrade on Crookes but granted, it's not a signing that will set the league on fire.

Poor retained list? I hate the very lazy ‘could do a job’ phrase.  It’s can they do what is required that counts.
 

I could ‘do a job’ but I’m 52 now with shot knees.  Having said that I’d still fancy my chances over 20 yards vs Popey if that is who is being referred to.  
 

If that job was being dominated by younger / fitter / more powerful centre halves, waving arms about and moaning at team mates, and trundling after balls in behind then he is the man you want, but he would not lead us out of this league.
