I think it's the unverified method and then the original poster blasting the signing based on incorrect info that was the issue. 

A bit of Garrity and a bit of Conlon it looks like. With Conlon out I'm speculating he will start tomorrow and he will drop Walker with Pete and Garrity alongside him.

No he hasn't. Get your facts right rather than relying on Wiki and making a judgment

 My 'judgement' is about the Club paying a fee for an inexperienced player, rather than about the player.  As Wiki is inaccurate and not to be relied on, I would be grateful if you could let me know - in order for me to be more accurate - which source you use. Many thanks.

There was no blasting though. Just someone having an opinion… agreed looks like another garrity to me, decent numbers and scored twice recently for them so not a bad signing.

Ahh the old Vale fan logic of signing a player they've never heard of, checking their Wikipedia page, then completely writing them off as a waste of time before a ball is kicked, based on their appearance and goal stats.

Time to bring this out again!

I think the above, very good and accurate, flowchart can be used for people of the opposite persuasion, for whom every signing is a 'good signing'. Every arrow leads to 'happy with that'. 

Fundamentally no one here has a scooby doo if this lad is good enough. Every just chucking takes into the ether, and one side will victory lap in about 2-3 weeks.

Wiki stats are normally a widget pulling data from an external source. A lot of the time it tends to be accurate.
