Tend to agree as he is so clearly not ready yet to start. If DC wants to ease him in then surely some minutes off the bench is correct? Replace him from the off with the promising, eager, willing new youngsters.

He does look off the pace but the only way to get going is playing. Having said that he can’t play 3 games in 7 days anyway coming back from a long absence do I would expect lots of rotation in the CF position anyway.

My point was more how to get the best from our best players and I think a change in formation is the answer.

I don't believe for a second that, with a player as good as Gibbons, there's been no contract talks. Seems fairly clear that he's either indicated that he's leaving in July, or we're miles apart in wages. That being so, makes perfect sense to sell him now if there's clubs interested, particularly at Championship level as rumoured.

I've been saying this for weeks. There's no way we haven't tried to tie down the soon to be out of contract players we want to keep it just doesn't make sense to be so switched on with signing new players yet let existing players contracts run down

I dont think it matters who it has come off Joe its the worst kept secret since the window opened,he was never going be here at the start of February. At least any money goes back into the club

Interestingly Arsenal have let a goalkeeper, Dejan Illiev  leave after 9 years at the club and not a single appearance. Surely can’t be worse than amateur wrestler and Chuck Norris impersonator Covolan?

First posting....go easy on me😀 I wonder if Sheff U would sign him and loan him back to us for the rest of the season? Perhaps someone could confirm if this is allowed.

We will sure miss the energy he gives the team and the way that gets the crowd going which in turn raises the whole teams energy levels!

I would guess it depends on who buys him and if they think he is close to their first team or not

Ok. I think how it works is the players  made an offer and then he goes away to discuss with his agent and there’s the back and forth with the club over clauses, money etc. Hasn’t he said twice now that no talks have taken place? I’d have to find the interviews to see what was said.
