It’s all well and good keeping everybody happy, but what happens say if Gibbons and Worrall get injured? We are then left in a predicament that we saw before Christmas with the ST position. We aren’t a one or two man club, we have moved on from those unsuccessful times. As I said, if anything, top quality players should ultimately relish with healthy competition. Which, in turn, should realistically breed success. I’m all for bringing players in to add healthy competition, if players aren’t happy, they can leave. It’s as simple as that!

In DC and Flickers we trust.

I think that league 2 football is different, players need to be playing to earn contracts or future moves. Most of them arent on big deals either and if you get released from league 2 where do you go? It’s not like the premier league where they have 2 great players in most positions and they’re all sitting on fat contracts. I bet you most fans are looking at our squad and thinking we’ve got probably the best wing backs in the league( certainly Worrall, hussey and gibbo would walk into any league 2 side), maybe the the best centre halves and also some cracking forwards. Hopefully it works out for us having good competition in positions, because we are almost breaking the league 2 mould in that regard, but this is why most league 2 clubs end up having players like Mills and Evans as back up.

Maybe Mills and Evans were the worst choices possible 😀 But I’m just just trying to highlight that good players at this level can’t afford to not be playing when they’re in form, purely because of the contract situation and their future,  as it’s not like the premier league.

I genuinely think you’ve got to comfortable with having absolute dross rotting in our football club over the years. We are being run properly. I’m struggling to see the issue?

Who’s talking about dross when I’ve specifically mentioned our best players names? Who I’m sure won’t fancy being rotated and not playing. In particular those like Worrall who are in form. Seems straight forward to me at this level of football where playing dictates their career as they aren’t on fortunes and can afford to be part of a rotation policy.

How many bench warmers and journey men have we had over the past few years! Now at least we have guys on the bench who can make a difference. Nothing is sure in football but we have a manager who can make decisions and we are at least trying in improve the squad

And as a club you cannot expect to prosper with dross / deadwood as back up in case they actually need to play!

It’s not a game for just 11 players anymore - thankfully DC / DF have bolstered last summer so we were still competitive with 5 forwards missing, and have looked to strengthen further this window.

I just don’t understand why you see it as a problem?

Do you think hussey smith gibbo Worral hall Pett etc will be happy at being rotated when they’re playing well  just because we’ve got a good squad? I’m not saying I want rubbish as their back up, I haven’t said that. I’m highlighting that league 2 football doesn’t normally stand great players in each position because players have to play for their contract and their career, league 2 players don’t have the luxury of big contracts to rely on I’d they aren’t playing.

The simple fear or worry I had is that policy of rotation could see some of them unhappy or want to move. Maybe it’s unfounded.

Plus £32500 TV money for oversea's broadcasting.

I would offer Bolton £50K and a 20% sell on to deal with the compensation required and get that contract in front of him and try and tie him up before anyone else comes sniffing.

If he’s free in the summer wait until then when he’s a free agent. Then give Dennis his market value as a signing on fee and there won’t be a on clause. Do we know if he’s ever been 100% fit.?

If you go on you tube there's plenty of player after match interviews in which they state that if they don't perform or in fact if they do perform that their place still isn't guaranteed. I've seen Proctor, Wilson, Garrity, Jones etc all accept this & say they are happy. They understand DC's philosophy that every game/side is different & he'll pick a side he thinks will do the job on that particular match day. I have no worries regarding players being upset or unhappy for this reason

Personally, I don’t see your fear. I also think you’re in the minority with that opinion. It’s competition, something which we haven’t had in a long, long time. As I said, if they aren’t happy, they can leave. We aren’t a one club man anymore!
