Good points this last page or so, all I would add, has Benning been that bad, or is it because all others in similar positions have been our best players - no one knew Jones was going to be so good and pre-season there were question marks over Gibbos fitness due to his unfortunate injury record last season - I thought Mal did well when he came on Saturday

There's that story about people who think they're good drivers because they aren't in any crashes themselves, they just happen to witness a lot.

Feel like that with Benning. He's not cataclysmically poor, just lots of things seem to go wrong in his area when he plays.

He works hard and seems like a good character, it just hasn't worked.

Tricky one, you could go 3-4-3 but then you lose one of Garrity, Pett, or TC!

4-3-3 with Hussey and Gibbons full backs and a front three of Politic - Wilson - Worrall would be good, especially against the poor sides/ones that sit in when we are at home and maybe dont need 3 centre halves.

If Gibbons and Worrall rotate at RWB and Hussey plays LWB with Benning as cover that is a quality set of wing backs.

Pett/Conlon/Garrity first choice midfield but the second string Walker/Taylor/Campbell(?) isn't half bad.

Proctor/Wilson with Edmondson/Harrat as cover and Amoo/Rodney/Politic/Hurst as wingers if plan B 3/4/3 is needed.

Cass/Smith/Jones seem to be first choice while Legge and Martin are experienced back up and expect another CB in the window.....seem to have two good keepers pushing each other for a start.

Too many good players, too few spaces. Impossible to decide.

A year ago we'd just fallen apart at Mansfield and had to let Askey go. Up front we had Robinson and Guthrie, further back we had Whitehead, Fitzpatrick and Mills.

Hurst completely forgot about him. Has he played a single minute this season in the league?

To think when we hired DF way back when people thought that DoF's were ridiculous at League 2 and Carol was having the wool pulled over her eyes.

A cracking point made. We're all mithering who plays where , who misses out and yet you quite correctly refer to that carnage at Mansfield.

What a refreshing place to be.

And hopefully onwards and upwards now with our injured players . Proctor certainly has been missed but now it seems we can cope with most eventualities.

Got to remember it is going to be Saturday/Tuesday/Saturday three games a week relentlessly and it is a squad game with a matchday 18 and three subs......got to have cover for every position'cause there are going to be injuries and niggles and squad rotation is key to keeping the players fresh and certainly the use of subs in the last 20 minutes which is when strains and pulls are most likely.

Tricky, yes, but we may yet lose Conlon...hope not. But to paraphrase Woody Allen,as tricky situations go, it's one of the best. I'll take an abundance of riches anytime!

Think we have 5 midweek matches in the 16 weeks until the end of the season. Hardly relentless.

If you include Easter Monday we have 7.

The 4 postponed,  FGR postponed due to Brentford game, Carlisle and Hartlepool .

So almost one a fortnight.  I agree not relentless but given our crap luck with injuries it's nice to have options.
