Hopefully not having to  cover the departure of a key player, looks like an eventful few weeks and a good start has been made.

I think there's time yet for a 'key' player to leave.

Depends really… if we receive a bid that we can’t turn down and reinvest the cash to further improve the team… isn’t that the exact message we want to give?

There will be interest in Gibbons and/or Conlon. 

Whether they stick around is another matter.

I'm thinking of people like Gibbo, who we all want to stay.  But I find it a bit worrying when, in the last 6 months of his Contract, he is still not tied down and there are no talks going on. 

He will have an agent in his ear pointing out he's having his best season ever and, if he wants to make some serious money, now is the time to move on.  I also wondered if that was why Vale made the bid for Hussey, someone who could fill the gap for 18 months, say. 

All conjecture on my part, I hasten to add.

Rumour only - I heard Hussey is in for talks today so the deal may not be dead and Crawley are trying to sign one our our CB's.

He does that every game. I’m sure you’d probably know, like the rest of us, if you went each week...

He is usually accompanied by the rest of the team though. It just looked a bit odd when the rest of them were clapping from the centre circle. Probably doing his duty as captain I guess. I have been to all home games this season apart from one of the Papa Johns games and the league cup FYI.

I stay until the players go into the tunnel, regardless of the result, and I can assure you, he did the same thing on Saturday which he usually does.

On Saturday I felt Gibbons and Conlon had poor games so if anyone was watching them they would not have been impressed!

Legge is from Sussex so a move to Crawley to start every week could be a very good shout for him.

I think I heard on the Ale podcast last night that Hussey was phyiscally at VP on Friday.
