Transfer rumours, targets & new signings

Bolton News throws up other angles.  Better to ease Politic back to fitness at Vale as they are likely to strengthen the squad in any case. Fans think he is not defensive enough and is erratic, better to bring in proven players.   It would suit me to keep him as an impact player slowly gaining fitness for the rest of the season.

I don't think we have money to throw around .....Yes we have accumulated money from the few cup games we have won but the running club costs are still there and they wont be cheap.

From the Summer recruitment and how we've added to the backroom staff I would say we must be in a better position than Smurf would ever have told us we were? We have a realistic and sensible wage structure, especially in comparison to some of our rivals. And we are run by professionals, now! But - I'm not the Club's accountant, so we will have to see!

Just really unfortunate he got an injury at the exact time he was going to get an extended chance. Can see he had some attributes which would have interested DC in the first place but if you’re a forward you ultimately need to be more of a goal threat than he is. Good luck to him.

Without knowing what funds we will have for January or what we might get from a cup run / potential player sales one forward who I think could tick the right boxes for us would be Kyle Wootton at Notts.

Wasn't a bad player I thought his hold up play was decent for a lad his age but perhaps lacked that killer instinct in front of goal.  I'm probably being harsh there and judging him on the Bradford chance alone and he didn't get that many chances if we're honest. Good luck to him in the future.

Didn't seem lethal and you could argue was lightweight.

Counter argument is tremendous harrying at Swindon for the winner and cleaned out twice at Mansfield and Crawley and Conlon scored from the free kicks.

I liked the lad he was a trier. Sad news for him.

But surely gates are up on what was bugetted for?  And Carol and Keith had got the Club operating within its means before Covid struck.

Bolton boss Ian Evatt suggest Politic wont be recalled in January, when asked he said he has done well but "No disrespect to Port Vale if he isn't getting in their team he shouldn't be in Bolton Wanderer's side"

No disrespect to Ian Evatt but he is an arrogant knob.

To be fair they are the best team in the division.  Evatt said so.

Interesting debate on Politic guys. As a Wanderers fan I’d love to see him back but I’m not sure Ian Evatt sees it that way, even though he has the offer of a contract. Denis is great going forward but Evatt prefers players who contribute defensively as well, which hasn’t been Politics strong point. We’re not sure why he hasn’t played more for you and seems only to come on off the bench. Obviously he’s not 100% match fit but then if he’s not getting the minutes, how can he be? If Evatt doesn’t call him back in January then obviously he doesn’t want him but do you? If you get promoted and I hope you do, would DP fit into your team, or would you want someone better? Interested to know your thoughts.

The problem he's had was firstly we only lost 1 in about 12 so couldn't get in a winning team. Secondly despite our manager being open to different formations he's very much a 5-3-2 with wing backs. Politic just doesn't fit that system.

Proving regularly as a massive impact player with assists and goals , he's turned around Orient, Barrow and Burton from a loss to a win. He's brilliant but I don't see him getting the game time so he may seek pastures new.
