Wow, DC has been as good as his word--he clearly has pruned a lot of what he believes to be 'dead wood.' Personally I see no real surprises, apart from perhaps, Scott Brown (he has also released Dino Visser) and possibly Shaun Brisley who in the latter games of this season didn't do too badly IMO.  Judgment obviously has to be put on hold until we see what replacements DC manages to bring in!

Scandalous decision to let Scott Brown go. Worthy of another year and in that time his successor could be prepared. Gone off Clarke!!!!!!!

He’s nearly 37 and has made some serious gaffs this season -unfortunately he’s passed his best but I thank him for his efforts

Probably due in the main to defenders in front of him. Really gutted to see him go. Great three years at the club.

Everyone would express surprise at Scott Brown. However, we need to consider how much money he was being paid.  Can we get a good GK for less? Yes we probably can.  We can never look at a single decision in isolation.  Clearly the manager wants to free up as much of his budget as he can.  By letting Scott go we may have a bit more in the pot to recruit a desperately needed quality left back, or a good striker.

One could argue that we could then offer Scott a much lower deal to stay.  That would only drag things out and quite probably lead to resentment.

Letting  players go before their game deteriorates significantly is an important decision for a manager.

Let's sit tight, and see who he brings in.
