Cheers Heatwave, I was struggling to remember the date of my first game but that was it. Climbed over the Bycars gates and hid for half an hour until there was a few in.

Was always going be vale as it runs in the family ,my gran LilyLeigh (pictured) who terrorised refs as they walked down the tunnel from the Lorne st with her brolly , The late great Gordon Lee said in the press lily is 👍queen of the terraces following Vale all over the country ,great memories.

My 2nd game was vs Jimmy Hill's Coventry City, Vale won 2-1. Records show it was on 22nd September 1962 and there was a big crowd of 9,816.  I too can remember the sky blue and white scarves.

My Mum and Dad weren't football fans and I used to go with my Grandad and my mate and his dad. We didn't have much money so I couldn't go to every game.  Mum used to give me half a crown (2sh 6d) and that used to buy round trip bus fare from Kidsgrove to Boslem, entrance to the Vale and a program and if my memory serves me right there was some change left.

Aug 27th 1971 for me.. Sat about 50 seats away from where I sit/stand every game in the Stand...
