Match Thread: Grimsby Town v Port Vale

Top 10 must now be the target for DC as he finalises his squad and player options. If Grimsby fail to win on Tuesday at Exeter they would be relegated barring freak goal scoring. So with nothing to play for they may find hidden form, and the Vale relax with the sea breeze switching the focus to summer holidays? Not likely  with DC about  Vale to win the game 2-0.

Tricky. Despite their position they’ve only lost 2 in 12 or 13 games something like that. They draw a lot and if they can survive still will be pumped up for it. Matete is very dangerous.

If they can stay up I’d go full strength here to be fair to the other sides in the relegation battle. Top half must be the target to reclaim some pride from the season and top 10 would be excellent considering the mess we were in.

Feared this would be the biggest game in our history a few weeks ago so nice we can enjoy a game of football with no pressure.

Play as we have and we should however have too much for these and a 2-0 win to confirm Grimsbys relegation.

However they have lost 2  in their last 4 games,  lost Bradford C A, won Bolton H, lost Morecambe H, won Oldham A.  so due to lose at Exeter and beat Vale if the pattern is maintained. But if they fail to win at Exeter relegation is  confirmed.  So glad there is no pressure.

Didn't Grimsby relegate us once years ago? It would be nice to respond to that and keep our winning run going

Last Home match of a relegation season from the 2nd Tier, but think we were already down.
