Not really, it tells me when he's injured we need a good replacement. When Monty first played at left back I though his defending was woeful but credit to him, he has learned to defend and gives us that extra attacking option when going forward and can score the odd goal as he has shown. Love it when he goes on one of his runs !

The bit in brackets tells you everything !

For Monty read Manny. Just doesn't play enough games sadly.

4 seasons at the club

Worral played 151 goals 15

Montano played 137 goal 17

Difference is 3 games a season. Both are pacey players, playing in those wide positions where players are susceptible to muscle injuries and bad tackles.  One has a reputation for being rarely injured, the other as a bit of a crock.

All wide players normally miss 10 plus games a season. From our last promotion JMW had a freak season and played 40 plus games; although he only played 30 plus times in 2 seasons. Very similar story with Ashley Vincent. Neither player ever played 137 games plus in 4 consecutive seasons, JMW managed 133 and Vincent 111.

One of Clark's recent interview spoke about trying to find lower league players who are going to have their one or two special seasons. Think that's especially true of wide players. Before I looked at the numbers my perception was Montano was particularly injury prone. I don't think he is that bad, for the type of player he is and the position he plays.

I’d guess Worrall has played a lot more minutes in those games than montano.

No idea but feel free to work it out. My guess Worrall has as he is such a key player when fit. The other comparison would be Gibbons. Both have been in our best 11 for the last 2 season;

Gibbons played 51

Montano played 69

Fairly certain Montano has also played more minutes. Nobody labels Gibbons as injury prone and I suspect he isn't particularly for a modern wingback. The role has changed from the days of Alan Webb and there is a lot more getting up and down the line at pace. Everyone (me included) labels Montano as injury prone, every time he is missing that just reinforces the perception.

... i would imagine the majority of Gibbons' absences have been due to the one major injury he suffered early in the season, and from which he has only recently recovered, whereas Montano's absences have been  caused by multiple hamstring/muscle injuries - thus earning him the 'injury prone' tag.

I don't think anyone can say Monty isn't an injury prone player no matter how good he is when he plays. I'm actually surprised he's played as many minutes as he has yet it still only equates to 25 as season

9159 minutes by Monty over 4 seasons. Worrall 10982 minutes over the same period. So roughly 20 games difference.

Depends how you look at it. 55% of minutes for monty, and 66% for Worrall. Neither figure is superb, but taking into account the ditching from the squad by NA in 18/19, Worrall would have been closer to 75-80% but for that, whereas montys absences have all been through injury
