DC has got a great team spirit a never say die attitude that was lacking under Askey. Noticed two of the Vale lads giving a high 5 after breaking down one attack in what really was anothing game

Mario, If you look at the numerous "Super Vale Away " or "Behind the Scenes" videos on Youtube you will see the same expressions of commitment and ream spirit by the players under JA, Again I'm not knocking DF/DC in any way just saying there are good players in the squad and it needed a new manager to come in and tighten things up and restore the confidence that had been lost.

I see the Gas and Swindon are both relegated from league 1.  I always disliked away days at Swindon.  It feels like we've had a few too many spankings at their place over the years.

Swindon have loads of problems and aren't safe from being expelled altogether or a massive points deduction

I'm really intrigued in how we are going to set up next season.

We haven't exactly shut up shop with this 5-3-2 formation , we are just more organised.

The 5-3-2 doesn't allow Gibbons and Worrall to start together ( yes I know they did yesterday ) because surely a specialist left back/ wing back is high on our shopping list.

Can't wait for August to get back, and hopefully away fans allowed. I assume we'll be away first game. Torquay sounds mighty fine in August .

I think one thing we have all learned it’s not just about players! It’s about organisation application and desire, DC has turned a dispirited and disorganised bunch into a decent side. With a few additions and tweaks would could have a very good season next year.

I think what is does mean is that we aren’t overly reliant on Gibbo, Monty or Worrall.  Whilst three of our better players, two of these have somewhat questionable injury records and Worrall player virtually every game for the last 2 seasons so is in need of a break / due an injury.

Swindon being in the mire is excellent as it might finally turn around that dreadful away record.

They were on some county court bailiff TV documentary having assets repossessed years ago and nothings changed since, perennial financial basket case.

I don’t think Barton will last long at BR, from what I understand he’s not endeared himself to the fans and they need a huge squad overhaul.

I’m going to sound harsh here but I still have a realist eye on a good clear out despite the upturn in form and individual performances. Playing well in end of season dead rubbers when you’re playing for a contract doesn’t impress me when you spent the winter bottling it losing every week.

Not too wild with the machete chopping the squad down but not too sentimental either. Can’t afford to make the same recruitment and re-signing mistakes again, we simply have to go out and poach some nailed on starters this summer.

Isn’t Swindon that old Lee Power issue again? Right dodgy chap allegedly and once involved loosely with us?

Brown 7 no chance with goal and apart from a early save and a bouncing shot in second half had nothing do in general .

Smith 8 excellent again won penalty and along with the two others saw that the opposition were less threatening by the minute as game ticked on .

Legge 9 man of the match absolutely wonderful display won everything .

Brisley 8 maybe should have scored second half when hooking over from close in but on the whole after dodgy start won everything .

Worrall 6 worked extremely hard defensively but didnt really influence our forward play as such but did his job well in a team way .

Gibbons 7 was linking well with players at times I like it when he gives and goes .

Whitehead 7 linked the play well had a very decent game I thought .

Joyce 7 set up Robinsons goal after smashing work from Swann and generally passed the ball well and was in general the best midfield player on the pitch .

Robinson 8 scored a lovely goal should have sealed it late on after Amoo played him in but generally had a good game and kept Vale up there end when required

Swann 7 like how he links play a player who is always on the move along with Robinson didnt give the Bradford  back line a minutes peace

Conlon 7 a lovely volley saved by keeper ,a very well taken penalty goal and constantly chasing players all over the pitch and being in there faces, terrific stuff a great week for the lad .

Subs Amoo 7 I enjoyed his efforts .

Burgess 7 carried on from the good work by whitehead thought he passed it super well and he was chasing every lost cause aswell i like him he is  a very good player .

What a transformation in Vales fortunes ,every player playing for the shirt it's being a terrific ending to the season thus far and so nice enjoy Saturday's again .

As for Bradford I thought they were decent first half but second half they had no answers and let's face it they got what they deserved nothing

Darrell Clark has excellent in game management because first 20 we were struggling then he did a change in formation and then we got our game going and for that he gets a 10 along with that motivational lieutenant Crosby .

A collective well done to them all and Davif Flitcroft you legend what a fantastic team of people you brought in with the backing of our big hearted chairlady Carol

Thank you so much

UTV lets get everyone in ground for Mansfield game

Worrall can also play on the right of a midfield 3, so get the three of them in the side isn't a major problem. I think Clark probably wanted a look at Gibbons on the left yesterday.

Wozzer does a job wherever. It is more about getting the best from him. Gibbo had a quiet day yesterday.  We need a LB so we can have Gibbo RB and unleash Wozzer wherever it hurts the oppo most.

Having Woz right back there is hopefully a short term thing. He's the best attacking outlet we have have bar none.

I've moved my position from apocalyptical clearout to mass clearout based recent performances, but the majority stay the same for me. The only players featuring heavily in this run that I would have been disappointed to keep but now I wouldn't mind are Legge and Brisley, though 1 of the 2 would be preferable. Joyce can go, Brown can go, the obvious can go, Burgess can go.

Clarke said in his post-match that he wanted to see the response from going behind, as that would tell him a lot about the players. Scoring within a couple of minutes tells you one thing, but I don't think it gives you the answer to that question on mentality.

I think the league has been poor this season and will be the same again next season. You don't need to be world beaters to go up. There's no reason to think that Clarke couldn't achieve a top 7 place with this same group next season, but I'd still be incredibly underwhelmed (and a bit hacked off) if we start next season with Brown, Legge, Joyce et al as first choice/at the club. I'm sorry, but it's going to take more than some strong performances in the sunshine against teams with nothing to play for to make me forget the fact that these players downed tools for a full three months for no reason whatsoever. I have a horrible feeling that history will repeat itself if we sign up too many of this bunch, and we'll again suffer another winter of discontent when the old boys go through the motions and decide whether they can be arsed again.
