If you getting rid of your influential can create a goal ,score ,and generally make us look a damn good side type of players then you better be sure there replacement is as good if not better

Or more consistent, or more available, or suits the system better, or have a better winning mentality.... lots of factors.

Manny and Monty cant influence a game from the injury room.

Manny was a brilliant player for the Vale when he was there, and there lies the problem he was only on the pitch for 50% of the time. He was in my opinion the best player on Vales books when he was on his Game.

I am no great tactician or sport’s scientist but I could see this coming and I would guess so could Manny which was no doubt why he agreed to the move as well as the undoubted pay rise. Once Manny knew there was interest from a reasonably local club with a two year offer he was always going to go for it no matter what the Vale wanted or offered ( which quite rightly would not have been a two year contract on more money for a player who spends 50% of his time off the pitch).

I also think Monty will be looking over his shoulder now.

Morecambe started the game way better than us on Saturday and Manny was on then.

We are guilty of painting him out to be something he isn't. I really like Manny he just simply hasn't been value for money has he . A fully fit Manny is one of the best players we've had in recent seasons.

The fact Chesterfield came in for him and not Salford or Bolton speaks volumes. Last night he played against Boreham Wood !!

It's not career progression for his ability it's a move to guarantee him a job for his family for 2 more years.

Monty will be in jeopardy mate, pulled out at 1-15 pm on Saturday, Clarke is nobodies fool.

There is going to be a lot of upset people on here come May.

But do you know what, we've got to suck it up and trust the powers that be.

We all have opinions and that's what this site is for but the only opinions that matter are Clarke and Flitcroft.

Yes he talks the talk but I fully expect a replacement already on the radar for Clarke, football doesn't stand still.

Monty, Pope, Amoo are 3 potential favourites to go purely on injury record and value for money for minutes played.

And we lost to the Mighty Kings Lynn to start our demise!National League have many teams who would do well in the crap league we are in.All relative to be honest.

I ,yes you and Darren are correct however we have just won 6 in a row with both playing prominent roles in the winning of the games.

I am the now and present not the past like for example I do not want remember most of this season as we have lost way too many games .

Its has become apparent that since the return of Oyeleke and Montano that the team spirit, the winning mentality has re emerged.

Do you not agree that when Crookes and Taylor were playing we had a losing mentality .

An alternative to the past or present is looking to the future... I would prefer to try and find someone next season who has the winning mentality AND is available for all of our games.

Manny will be replaced... we dont have to stick with what we have.

Keep the faith.

I really don't get it!
Go back to early this fall, up until about mid March. People were slagging him of, "stealing a wage", "always injured" and the animosity towards him, was rising at a 90 degree angle for months! He then comes back, starts 6 games on the trot, does well in 5 and are then let go. And all of a sudden, the reactions are as if we've let Kevin De Bruyne go. People have been SCREAMING for a root to branch clear out, and both DC and DF have stated, that they will look at injury records when signing/re-signing players. And to be fair, Oyeleke is top of that list by a country mile! Yes, he's a very good player at the level, when fit. Problem is, he's almost always injured or returning from injury, and therefor rarely fit.
So DC and DF has sat down, looked at the pros and cons, and decided he could be sold. We even got 10k for a player, we would have let go for free in the summer. So it's a win/win, it really is!

Although Monty gets tarred with the same "sicknote" brush, he has made over twice the number of appearances as Manny and scored over twice as many goals. While also playing out of position a lot of the time.

Most as a sub though. It would be interesting to see how many games Monty has actually started and finished.

Proof that Oyeleke basically missed 50% of games this season, Montano a third roughly.

Smith for all his critics ever present and very rarely injured despite being battered black and blue by big centre forwards. Legge also good appearances and never injured.

Stats like that don't lie. Some of our crocks put Darren Anderton to shame

Monty has played a total of 7539 minutes for us over 4 seasons, averaging out at 1884.75 per season. Manny played 3653 minutes over 3 seasons, so an average of 1217.66 per season. So, given Manny had a serious injury last season which seriously curtailed his appearances (only 216 minutes), they don't appear that different on a balanced view

You can't argue that we should miss out Manny's worst run of injuries whilst including Monty's?

Not too sad to see him go.  When actually match fit was he one of our better players? Yes. But he was also the least reliable, in a squad that already has a fair few sick notes. Taylor really needs to step it up now and get back to the form he showed last season.
