Match Thread: Carlisle United v Port Vale

How refreshing is it to actually have a manager that makes changes to formation and personal instead of realizing something isn't working but closing his eyes and hoping it suddenly works out? I'm talking about the likes of Aspin and Askey.

Much better second half performance. I think Monty going off and changing the formation slightly with the players in front of the wingbacks to more of a 5-4-1 helped us, and we ended up looking more of a threat second half for spells, in particular down our left. I think the subs second half killed our momentum. Rodney and Gibbo were looking a threat together and he took the pace and strength of Rodney off for McKirdy of all people. Robinson was doing well I thought too and Cullen came on and added very little. Overall though a good point, another game with very little to do for Brown and reasonably solid defensively.

Yes I’d like to see more Gibbo / Rodders combo. The future is bright with the right decisions in the summer.

Mind numbing game with absolutely shockingly biased commentary. The ex player Lumsdon ? actually corrected the goon on a few occasions too.

I thought until last 5 minutes plus injury time we were the more likely winners.

I just feel a real sense of frustration that the likes of these and Orient are on the fringes of the play offs and Morecambe a point off automatic.

Still that old adage the league table doesn't lie.

Defence is imperious since Clarke came which is an achievement in itself.

Let the minnows have their day in the sun. They’ll be crushed next season I have no doubt.

Less said the better about that game.

All the talk about needing more quality and Jake Taylor isn't even on the bench.

To be fair he's shown anything but quality since he returned. Needs a good pre-season to properly bed in again.

That pitch looked really difficult to play on today very very dry and bobbly. I can't recall the last time I saw a match where the ball was in the air as much as that.

Bris and Legge absolutely outstanding today. Over the course of the past 7 games they are both making me change my mind and should be in the squad for next season.

Wowsers, some of the comments on here! I thought it was anything but an end of season snore draw. Ok quality not always great and few clear cut chances but, to quote their guy, two teams who rolled their sleeves up and weren’t about to give an inch to the oppo’s. I think if Rodney had stayed on we might have won it. I think there were lots of positives from that game.
