Who to sign for next season?

Why would he leave a newly promoted team ( probably) for us ?

Also the facts are there for us all to see but this is his Pope 12/13 wonder season. Previously he's been somewhat a journeyman.

He's scored some absolutely tremendous goals and no arguing he's the best striker in the division but I'm not sure he's even a 15 a season man personally.

Had Rodney been on penalty duty as Mullin is then we'd be looking at a striker on about 17

I'm taking nothing away from the bloke , awesome season but I do think it's a one off everything he touched turns to gold season

How all the team have been playing under DC you would sign them all! However this has been a difficult season many of the past performances cannot be forgotten. I trust our management to sort out who has potential to play 30 games plus and perform consistently at a good level. The job of retaining our league status is almost complete , we now have to assemble a promotion chasing side nothing less than play offs would be acceptable.

Paul Mullins from Cambridge

No chance...

The risk of him being a one season wonder will be too high for the wages he will command after that season.

plus Cambridge will probably go up and offer him a great deal meaning he wouldn’t come here anyway.

I'm expecting a raft of players we haven't heard of/aren't expecting.

There's no point hiring a DoF and overhauling the recruitment department, only to go and try and sign the same players everyone else is and inevitably be gazumped on wages by Bradford

If we're going to get out of this league we're going to have to be smarter than everyone else in recruitment.

The Wonder of Vale pages won't like it but hopefully we'll go beyond the days of fans forming their opinion on the sole criteria of 'do I recognise him?', which would lead to a team of memorable names like Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro + players who had a good season years ago like Nicky Ajose.

Trust the Matrix.

If all clubs are having this player cap imposed  then there is going to be more to choose from come the Summer. Genuine question does it apply to Championship and League 1 ?  If so could be some decent pickings. Callum Guy a good shout liked him the short time he was with us. Need to replace some of our stalwarts with younger , fresher legged versions.

Applies the same to L1,  but Championship 25 same as Prem with homegrown min 8.

See...I don't understand this attitude? Past performances were a product of things that happened in the past - things that are not in evidence, now? Legge has come back in  and got back his form. Crookes has been people's MOTM. Mills has become a steady player. Brisley, likewise. Even McKirdy has done enough to be re-registered. What happened months ago, when all our players lost form, at the same time, may never been known - but, whatever it was, that environment / climate no longer exists so players probably won't fall back into those performances?

Until they decide they don't like Clarke? Really pleased that we've managed to pull clear of relegation now, but I personally don't trust all but a handful of our current squad to give it all week in week out.
