I don't really see any way back for Grimsby at this point, even if they win tonight.

Be a big ask for them but you never at this stage of the season, strange things happen especially when you start to play teams with nothing much to play for.  This will be 5 games unbeaten for Grimsby tonight, you never know they might start to build confidence and go on a run like Barrow just have.  I am just glad we won those 2 games, just want another 2 wins quickly and then we can start to prepare for next year and I can start to relax when watching the games.

Looking at the run in they've got they are not going to be winning much regardless of how confident they are.

Southend unlucky not to win that, Smallsall fans should be terrified, they're awful.

If Southend go down, Nathan Ferguson might be worth a scout report. In contract but financially they might have to consider a move. Never played for us under Brown I think but didn't look bad.

Was a bit of a left-field signing when he joined us but never really got a chance to show us what he had. He went on to Crawley where he did quite well for them & notched a few goals in an average side.

Now the stand out player for an albeit very poor Southend side. Came on & scored a cracker against us when we tonked them at Vale Park, & if you haven't seen his goal a couple of games later at Forest Green, then definitely worth a watch...

Had a bit of the Oyeleke cultured casualness about him.

It's a bit sobering tbh that even with 10 men, some of Southends attacking play tonight was streets ahead, desire and aggression wise, of where Vale were before Worrall came back.

They made a couple of decent signings just before they played us & Ferguson was one of them.

He only came on last 15 minutes or so against us, as he had only just signed for them. He looked good on the ball & scored that peach. He has one hell of a right peg on him. The goal at FG is stunning.
