Sheldon Report on child abuse in football

There's a lot of decent Crewe fans who've started to put their heads above the parapet and criticise Bowler/Gradi/other fans in denial. Unfortunately there is still a large percentage who continue to make it all about them, that the club and fans and Gradi are being victimised...simply unbelievable. I feel sorry for Phil1965.

For balance in terms of the screenshots, like I say there's a lot of decent fans standing up, some of whom are falling out with the ignorant ones. We have a good bloke in Phil1965 on here. They're putting their heads above the parapet to confront what's going on head on, and fair play to them. But some of the comments I just can't believe. "not happy with our clubs response theres a club up the a500 who would be happy with your support" is one.

All I can say is that last night was a damning indictment of the club I support. There is no way that boys should have been staying overnight at his house. The club needs to stand up and say we got it wrong. Until they do, I’m struggling to see how I can continue to support them, despite the fact that we have a good team at the moment.

I've just watched the first part from last night.

Someone else has also out something like this but there was something I never liked about Paul Stewart. My god, the agony that that man has carried with him all of his life is beyond anything I can wrap my head round.

Absolute full respect to all of those lads who spoke out on the programme.  You can still very much see the anguish in them.

The evil that people inflict on others never ceases to shock.

And thank you all for your kind words.
Thank you Phil for having the courage to voice your opinion especially as it's to the club you love, but it's not only Crewe, other clubs are equally culpable.
I've watched the first part, not looking forward to tonight's if it's just as harrowing but hopefully it's helping all those who have been abused and their families too.
I know it's on late at night but I think the FA, PFA etc should show it to all youth teams in it's entirety and young sports people in all sports....hopefully it may just get others to speak out and stop further abuse.
