Match Thread: Colchester United v Port Vale

I’m a little more cautious on whether we are safe yet. There is a long way to go but back to back wins have taken some of the pressure off.  All teams below us have at least one game in hand over us and that 10 point gap can close fast in a set of results but a great win and it’s great to see the team grind out results.

Well I was completely wrong, after 4 wins in 25 we can win 2 in 2!

Amazing!

Massive massive credit to Daryl Clarke. Performances over the last 4 or 5 games have been excellent and starting to get our rewards now.

Players gave their all, showed grit and balls, well done Vale. Conlon and Rodney pick of the bunch for me but their insistence on playing the high ball forward was ably met by Smith, Legge and Brisley. Crucial win at a crucial time of the season.

Relieved to say the least, one more win and we should be OK.

We'll forgive him after Tuesday

Still ran his conkers off as ever but wasn't as effective attacking today

He looked like he was limping too. Noticed it as he was walking into the box for a corner.

Thought second half we were a tad fortunate not concede as at times we were a bit lacklustre to say the least however when we did go forwards we looked a threat hitting the bar and post and scoring a goal what deserved win any game .

Great win though gives us momentum going into final 9 final games .

Colchester did well second half think they have enough about them survive .

Great save from Brown won us the game well done Scott

UTV

By the same token we were a tad unlucky not to double our lead

Good away performance

Get the f##k in. Bit nervy at the end there but we grounded out the result.
Monty MOTM for me. Didn't stop the whole game just hope his injury isn't bad.
Clarkeys Barmy army !

Only a bit nervous I was sat with my hands covering my eyes

Always a bit nervous when Vale play but the last few games it has been a bit easier as we seem more focused and professional.

Radio stoke just made a good point.

If we're 10 off the play offs we've all given it up as no chance yet we are still anxious 10 clear of the bottom 2 yet same points differential

Definitely psychological

Never win again this season, won't score again this season openly laughing at players before the Bolton game, well done Vale and well done DC for slow but sure progress.

I'm glad to be massively proven wrong and happy to humble pie.

I didn't see us winning a single game except for maybe Barrow or Grimsby.

While we Still have to much dead wood, the players have looked a thousands time better in these last two games and long may it continue

Thing is though, when you're at the top end of the table, most of the teams around you are winning every week.

Bottom end one win makes a huge difference.
